11 year old rusty air compressor to paint a car 🤯👎🏼

In this video I used my small DeWalt air compressor and the AeroPro a160 spray gun first trial was a fail shortly after recording the video I repaired the compressor and have it ready to go so the next attempt should be a home run 🏏⚾
I personally think this might be a good set-up for someone who wants do do side work at car lots spot in repair work. you're not painting a complete car with this but little mobile work this week work. throw in the the trunk of your car or in the back of your truck and close your top and it's protected and mobile ready for any small smart repair job. 💪🏼

I take my 40litre compressor with me on weekend jobs (around 9 gallons) and even then i have to be a little patient at times, big balls my man. Great idea for a video, i really enjoyed it 😉🤙

UPK got what looks like a 60 gal with med belt drive motor. And a full dryer system at 50ft.. IMO 80 gallon is still a small compressor if used alone with a small or Med Motor. 120 is a normal small size with large motor at the older rent a booths here in California. $140. a day. $85 for 4 hours. Newer booths are around $250 a day. 200 gal compressors And they are usually behind an auto paint supplier. I've used that same Dewalt for air brush touch ups. Motor is tiny. I think we are all more interested in whether that gun is a good starter that can continue into the big compressor and rent booths. And you answered that. A little slow but will get the job done. I use a r500 everyday for primer at work for the past year. I prefer it over my devilbiss gpg. Helps keep the overspray out the shop . i also use a r500 at home with a 30 gallon 8 cfm oiless compressor. Works great. I will say for any lvlp you need at least 20 gallons of air. Upk uses a 21 harbor freight just fine. I've even done a whole car with a lph 400 with my 30 gallon. Set the out going pressure on the compressor to like 60 psi and it'll bump your cfms up. Lph only use 9 cfm which is still pretty low. The ani f160 only uses 8 cfm. My setup is perfect for a mobile business or home shop. I live in the hood so leaving compressor outside isn't a option for me. Crack heads stole my 80 gallon kobalt 2 years ago. Bought the gallon so i could take it in and out the house

UPK has a bigger one but he also uses it to spray overall paint jobs and we know you won't spray an overall car on the mobile so this may work for people just trying to do small repair work, spot in jobs at car lots etc... The owner was like WTF you're going to paint this Mercedes with that compressor 🤨 but he knows I put out quality work and I'll get professional results regardless. Looking forward to more vids using this gun with good air and see what it can really do. I really like mine. Working at home I've been running it at 20-22psi for base and about 29psi for clear. Your the first vid I've seen with it running at 40psi. Good vid trigger👍

Hey, just wanted to mention Aeropro and Rongpeng are the same Chinese company, just different marketing brands. Aeropro A610 is same as Rongpeng R500. They also make the Vevor gun...its called R802 at Ronpeng, A604 at Aeropro. All a bit confusing. But Vevor gun and gun in this video are made by same company .....so seem they make some good stuff! Also Vevor gun is supposed to use no more than 4.5cfm air....so it should run pretty well on larger DIY compressors. Don't know if you noticed in the real world that Vevor gun uses less air? I just bought a Vevor so hope my big DIY compressor can run it....

I hooked up one of those motor guard filters to the wall. Quick connects so I can switch from the 20 gal or the 60 gallon. That Dewalt def. Has enuf pressure for that lvlp gun(with no leak). Very efficient gun. Really, surprisingly good. I have use them for sealers, quick jobs, base. Not my favorite for clear, but it can do the job. Upk was right saying to haul out a small compressor. But you hauled out a mini! He uses the 21 gallon Harbor Freight on the videos. Entire car more than once. Got my 3m pressure cup and pps adaptor for the Apollo turbine set-up. Still going for it. Full paint job 87 Jeep. I know it works for base as I tested it. Unlimited clean air. For clear coat, i will need to experiment. This is not compressor painting. If I get a bit too much texture at first, no biggie. I',m already committed to a cut n buff. Will post the results on a video short when paint day is here. Running long on the comments(again). Good job on the partial demo. I know i'm not the only one who would like to see you try it again👍 6: 41 on Sat and i'm about to head out to the garage for sanding and more primer this morning. I would say m9st people can aford an 30 gallon if they can afford an 6 gallon or 15 gallon they are not much more price wise! An 6 gallon runs about $180.00 for an good new one ,15 gallon about $300 and an 30 gallon is about $600! I use to have an 30 gallon husky 2 phase 7.5cfm rated and it performed greatly

Hello Triggerman, how much of a difference is there in material consumption between this gun and the lph 400.

This was my first time using this gun. And as you can see it would be unfair for me to give that opinion on this gun since I did not have proper air flow. I'm very familiar with the LPH 400 it's actually my favorite clear gun and material consumption is very minimal with the LPH400, I plan on making more videos on this gun in the very near future and I'll be able to give you a more accurate opinion.

@@jesuszaragoza2473 well as far as over spray I'll tell you right now LPH400 has that gun beat. It put out way more over spray than the LPH. Even with not enough pressure I had a fog in my spray booth.

@@thetriggerman954 excellent man, I did not want to buy it and surprise you that it would cause more overspray, I run my lph 400 at 16 psi as the manufacturer marks it, I have not tested it at more psi, I see that in many videos they raise it to more psi, I even saw in some videos that It counterproductive to run it at 16 psi and I have seen that they run it at 29psi.

At 10 psi u can use the lph-400 purple cap. It requires that pressure.

quick question trigger why do you wind the fluid in instead of wide open and when should you run wide open

Certain guns depending on how the threading feels I will start from in. This gun has a lot of play when turning it out from closed so it's just easier to give an accurate setting going in from wide open. EXCELLENT question. I normally always spray with a fan wide open but some guns will distort at the ends or break up in the middle so on those guns you would need to start incrementally turning in the fluid. Great questions man. 💪🏼👊🏼

@@myblkz yea most guns are okay wide open but if you notice that something doesn't look right with a pattern Don't assume it's you or the gun start making little incremental adjustments It does take time but after you've been doing it for a while you'll you'll learn how to diagnose an issue right off the bat.
