This is inspiring and gives people that may not be able to paint inside of a shop or garage hope. It would be interesting if you would do a closer up walk around of that paint job and point out the areas that you think came out weak and for what reason that way maybe we can try to adjust to avoid it, you were moving mighty fast fo sho! Lol

I've been watching a lot of videos of how to paint a car at home. I bought a huge 220v 60 gal compressor with 10hp and a $350 DeVilbiss gun and all sorts of supplies and paint. Spent thousands (still less than a pro would charge) and now that I see the results you got with much cheaper and lesser equipment, I feel so much better that my car will turn out ok! 🤣🤣 thank you!

FYI 1500w (110v x 15A) is the max you can have on a single breaker for 110v households. Which means 2hp is the maximum about if power you can have on a 110v system. 1 HP is usually 700 watts. So anything that states above 2HP is just marketing. You need a 2 Phase motor (220v) in order to have 4-5HP, double the voltage means half the amp draw. CFM also only states the amount of air that can be delivered from a tank full of compressed air, once you fall below a certain threshold it's the actual air pump that provides the CFM needed for HVLP guns (12+CFM). The only air pumps that supply that require 4+HP so thus needing 220v system... Yeah that's a lot. If you're doing it at home as a hobby, use an LVLP spray gun like the "Sprayit 33000" $100 gun kit that uses 5CFM. Otherwise you need a 220v shop compressor.

@chris01479 Жыл бұрын
Have you been using airless electric spray gun to spray on your car? If so did you make it like what professional does or it is worth to go to a professional bodywork to get it done?
@jamlzak2536 Жыл бұрын
@@chris01479 I use much larger air compressors and much better paint guns now. All of my work comes out professional.. sometimes it just requires a little know how and extra work. Quality is not in the shop, however, it's in the individual.
@chris01479 Жыл бұрын
@@jamlzak2536 Oh cool. What air compressor do you use and how many cfm do you have? I don't have a air compressor but I could buy air pump or use a tyre to spray on my car. Will that work or do I have to go to a professional bodywork? If I go to a bodywork shop it will cost me $ 700 to spray on the bonnet, top and the boot so I'd find too expensive and not worth for a 18 years old car. If you can help me how I can find alternative to use air spray gun to spray on my car that will be great.
@jamlzak2536 Жыл бұрын
@@chris01479 Get a decent lvlp spray gun and a 30gal compressor. Prep work is key. Prep it good, take your time, don't be nervous and just shoot it. Your environment is important...wind, humidity, too much heat are conditions you don't want to paint in
