It is great to see even though the log had an unfortunate centre, you made it into some beautiful slices. Thankyou both.

- This one looks like it may be interesting. That black orchid in the end could turn into anything.

Black persimmon (Kaki tree) can be interesting if large enough to have these strange black markings, but the ones you are sawing today are in such a stage of decay that it's not timber anymore.

Do you guys have any stateside distribution arrangements? I have many friends building furniture and if their local wood sawyers don’t have access it just isn’t available

Lindo resultado! Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil

Persimmon oil, vagrant and acidic. When polished it has great depth and interior sparkle. Very expensive if you can find a large piece of it. These slabs will sell for major $$, in fact he probably wasn’t going to cut it it unless he had a sale for it. It doesn’t weather well if exposed. The holes happen because of interior rot ( high acidic). This one looks like it had worm or termite issues though, it’ll do ok as a table top / with acrylics.. I’ve always wondered about a rifle stock

I love watching the beautiful grains and shades you expose sawing your logs. But the sizzling high pitched noise of the mill is quite abrasive and annoying. How about putting appropriate music in place of the noise.
