I have a ‘22 PW myself and love it. I had a Gladiator Rubicon previously and the PW is so much more comfortable. I’m replacing the stock tires with 35s because that’s as big as I can go and still park it in my garage. I have had my fair share of vehicles and this is the first one in a long time that doesn’t have me looking for another truck. Congrats on the purchase!
@MotoringAdventures_KE7SAI3 ай бұрын
I'm glad it's keeping you satisfied! The PW is such an awesome truck! You get so much vehicle for the money IMO. There's just not enough money for me to have (and keep) all the vehicles that I want. Lol! Thank you! Yeah, mine just sits in the driveway. Won't fit in the garage. LoL! The 392 still fit, but just by a hair.

I have a 2011 Power Wagon and a 2022 Wrangler 392 AEVJL 370. I tow the 392 with the Power Wagon. Mine has the 5.7L (Eagle) Hemi along with factory 4.56 gears. I bought it new in July of 2011, and it’s been an incredible truck. It has a Four Wheel Camper in the bed, and overall it’s a better expedition rig than my 392. It only has 62,000 trouble free miles on it. Enjoy the PW, I’ll keep checking in on your adventures.
@MotoringAdventures_KE7SAI3 ай бұрын
Thank you! Sounds incredible to own both! I think in the long run, you’re right, the power wagon will be a better expedition rig. My last outing to the hill country made me realize that I could have done the whole thing in a Power Wagon, much more comfortably. And maybe, just maybe, the family might have come with me too! 😂

Thank you! Hopefully that won’t be the last Jeep I ever own. But really I can’t imagine many that would be better than the Rubi392.

Great video and I’m thinking about getting one myself. Let us know if you decide to go with a different wheel or spacers.
@MotoringAdventures_KE7SAI3 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yeah I've been toying with the wheel situation right now as I have that minor rubbing. I was going to go with some Power Wagon "beadlock capable wheels" because of the added wheel protection with the beadlock "beauty" ring, and the valve stem protection. I originally read that they had better backspacing to prevent rubbing, but later read that it's the same as the factory wheel that's already on there. If money was no limit, I'd go with an AEV Salta or Katla. But I might just end up getting the spacers for now. The rubbing is very little, but no rubbing would be ideal as even a little bit of rubbing over time, can cause issues down the road.

Surprised that you sold the JEEP but it was fun while you had it What a nice looking truck....an aftermarket exhaust or mid muffler delete would sound great on the big hemi...

I was so hesitant because I knew I'd regret it. At least for awhile. It was a nice ride and not just the Jeep itself. Lol! But everything I did with it. I still kick myself sometimes. But just have to move on and grow sometimes. And I would like to get some sound out of this hemi eventually. It's way too quiet! lol

After watching your videos of the Jeep, you really didn’t need a Jeep. You needed a pickup.
@MotoringAdventures_KE7SAIАй бұрын
Yeah. Especially when taking the family. A part of me still wants to explore trails that are a bit tight for a Power Wagon. (Black Bear Pass comes to mind) But I will get more use from the truck overall. I can always rent a Jeep if I want to run trails like Black Bear or Moab.
@toddhoffmaster60573 ай бұрын
I was pretty upset with you selling the 392, until I saw that it was for a Power Wagon. That is a very nice looking one. What kind of ham radio/antenna setup are you going with in the truck? The 37's look really nice - almost the way it should have come from the factory. Ouch, that fuel mileage looks pretty bad. I have a Tundra 5.7 and I thought it was bad.
@MotoringAdventures_KE7SAI3 ай бұрын
I was upset with myself! Lol! But ultimately there was a reason I went looking. I’ll be looking for antenna mounts for the Ram front fender to mount my Kenwood D710. And yeah hopefully three mpg goes up once I recalibrate. lol. But these aren’t known for getting great mpg.

Super crazy, I just traded mine for a Ram 3500 dually. I moved up to Alaska and the 392 just isn’t really that useful up here. Quads, side by sides, and snow machines are way more useful. Although I am thinking about buying a Braptor….
@MotoringAdventures_KE7SAI3 ай бұрын
@@PrestonGladd Dually! Nice! Yeah the Raptor is an avenue I’m afraid to explore. lol! I know I’ll love the room combined with decent off-roadworthiness. I just have such a long history with solid axle vehicles off road that if I go back to one, it’ll have to be something significant like a Braptor or a TRX. How’s life in Alaska?

@@MotoringAdventures_KE7SAI well it’s absolutely an awesome piece of engineering. we’ve enjoyed all of our trips with it, but now that we have the trailer with kitchenette it’s a bit redundant for our uses and the money would better be used towards outfitting the trailer. Having owned both a FS truck and an Wrangler, I couldn't care less about full size truck mods. They are NOT a substitutes one for another. I myself have (and have watched others) make the trip from JL to FS truck for similar reasons. Now, myself (and a lot of others) are looking for another Wrangler. But if a huge vehicle is your top priority, then I guess it makes sense. Good luck. Unsubscribed.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It was a tough decision that I lost lots of sleep over. One thing I did not emphasize enough in the video was the monetary aspect.
