I hate to be a safety sally.........but get a neck sock and close your shield. I blew a oil hose that sprayed the headers. The resulting fire melted my fire shoes,seat belts,fresh air hose to helmet and face shield. If I didn’t have gloves my hands would be junk. It lasted seconds.

This is in response to the rods failing. I truly believe that you experienced the absolute power of sound i.e. harmonic resonance my friend. What an amazing example in my opinion. Unbelievable and unfortanate, but at the same time so cool to see what the power of sound can actually do. When you say everything was perfect you would be correct. Perfect pitch. When the sound and pitch of the engine matched the natural frequency of the rods that's when the SHTF. Just a theory, but I think that would explain why everything else was ok and only the rods failed. Thanks for all the videos. So cool to see the wagon go down the track the way it does!!
@bdugle12 жыл бұрын
Those 110s seem to be very happy at a bit less than 4.0 pressure ratio. I suspect the compressor map tells the story… Getting that giant wagon to 60 ft better than 1.13 just seems amazing! Can’t wait to see the videos from Sick Week!
@bcbloc022 жыл бұрын
Compressor map would not make a lot of difference unless the old turbos were really bad ineffecient. The big change comes from the bigger turbines and the 5" exhaust. Lower drive pressure with the same boost adds a lot of power.

@@stevemorrisracing You ever gunna experiment with the whole 'MOPAR' framework? Or would that be 'redundant' or 'offensive to your senses'? If so, that's fine, I'm not gunna judge, but I just saw a 525 C.I. 440 block and been dreaming of making a 880 C.I. Viper block with hemi heads which I imagine would have no problem pumping out 5k to maybe 6k HP without blowing up. Admittedly, hemi heads are not something exclusive to MOPAR, seeing as more than even all of 'the big 3' have tried the technology at one time or another [mostly in the early 50's] and ditched them mainly due to production costs, but then I have now seen a lot of billet, and cast 'chevy' and a few 'ford' bottom ends, with modifications incorporated into them to take block specific hemispherical heads. But a V-10 is still, to some extent, an unpopular block, for a range of reasons, and, while some seem valid, work-arounds have since then been developed, eliminating these short comings. And, while one might say: "Why not a V-12?" I say: "No reason..." but with the idea of maybe 'creeping up on' that. And, while, arguably, V-12s seem to be much more popular, and more 'proven', they are also more of EVERYTHING. Same is true of a V-10, of course. But I can also see that as a reason you may have not wanted to bother with them. I was just curious, if you even gave it a first thought, and, if other people have mentioned it to you in the past.
