Growing vegetables in the Sunshine, what a nice way to spend the week. I've been so busy recently but the time i'm able to spend up at the allotment has been so relaxing.
I plant out the Cavolo Nero that we picked up last week and give the glass Greenhouse a good wash down ready for summer. And then i get to spend the whole afternoon sat in the grass sowing seeds. I'm slowly catching up with my sowing schedule!
We also take a little trip up the Thames on the ferry from Richmond to Hampton Court Palace.
On Saturday i get to spend another whole day pottering in the garden with the sunshine and Lily and the Hens. I sow the first of this years carrots and what a surprise... pick more asparagus!

I want to share with you a memory you sparked in my family. You bought candies at a garden store. That was what my family remembers as "Grandmom Candy" My grandmother Ellen Rodden immigrated to Philadelphia USA in the 1920s married and had 3 children. My mother had 8 children Whenever we went to visit Grandmom she gave us a peice of THAT candy! I have an old tin and a tin from visiting Ireland and Now I have ,via Amazon, this new tin of Sweets! Thank you so much for sparking a wonderful memory.

It's so great gardening; breathing fresh air, getting a suntan and wearing whatever we like, or nothing at all in my back garden veg patch. Time almost stands still as we sow, prune and harvest. Love your sense of humour and smiles, making Tuesdays special.

Jessie at Plot 37 I'm in the USA love your videos . This said this was posted 6 days ago so here goes I tried something new that I thought was crazy but it made sense .I took a 1/2 gal mason jar filled it almost 3/4 full of lukewarm water ,added 2 tablespoons of sugar and 3 tbsps of active dry yeast ,set it aside to bloom then added it to a bucket and filled with water and watered my plants .Almost overnight it looked like they had grown 2 inches . The trick is it adds active good bacteria to your soil . I gave tomato plants to a neighbor and mine are twice the size of his.

hello Jessie at ‘Loosing the ‘Plot 37’…🤣🤣…not really!!!…but maybe just a little bit Mad?!…Wonderful video again… glorious weather..and lots of stuff done… greenhouse now rather sparkling..and filling up nicely with seeds and seedlings… perfect growing weather…wet and warm!!…Stop with the Asparagus!!!…. I’ve just had to get mine from the ‘Co op’… but it is English!!…. From the beautiful Vale of Evesham in the marvellous County of my Birth… Worcestershire👌👏👏….(look it up)….It is situated on a beautiful river…love rivers!!….So delighted to see you having a trip..’Up One’ too…Don’t blame you for opting out of the Hampton Court Palace ‘money grabbers’… excuse me but we’re supposed to be in a ‘cost of living crisis’!!!😡😡…but’ anyway the boat trip was actually better… so relaxing and tranquil… they can keep their Bl##dy royal residence!!….Also… so sorry your Mom suffering with that extremely painful hip… give her my very best wishes please… and relieved to know she has appt to assess her.. and hopefully give pain relief…until more can be done about the problem🙏🙏….Lil looking glamorous and in sun bathing ‘mode’… and the ‘Whirly Birds ‘ having a good time….Including ‘She Who Wants to Be Alone’… deciding to make an ‘Appearance’… a bit like Greta Garbo… nearly choked on the Chilean Sauvignon Blanc.. when I saw all three of them😳😳😳!!….I would go to Waitrose… if there was one near by.. but it’s Co op and Sainsbury Country round here!!!… So I Shop at the Co op… mostly….Can’t you spray broad beans with fairy liquid/water solution?… but probably the Ladybirds have got it ‘covered’…Have been watching the Jolly old Chelsea Flower Show… on the ‘spoilsport BBC’!!…I OBJECT !!…and dock some money off my license fee in protest 😡😡…What with Them and Hampton Court…whatever next??…’Up the Revolution, ‘…I say 🤣🤣…after the Queen’s Jubilee that is.. of course🙏⭐️🇬🇧..,We’ll put her in charge…and ‘Mr Party Gate’ and Co can go to The Tower’…You could be the MP for the AFP… Allotments Forever Party…Getting a bit fanciful now!!… So cheers Jessie… look forward to the Chelsea Experience…Next Time 🌼🌱🍅🌿🪴🌹🌷💐…Sue (Watercress Revolution Front) 🇬🇧🤣😃

Do not fret about the shirt I am older than you and I have the same shirt in the closet and it is often a garden shirt for me. The ferry ride was real nice to see the local activity thank you for that. Now for next week on Tuesday I will be looking forward to the Tony C Smith Show Esp since you will be on the program! I always love, when you take us somewhere and I keep this boat trips in my mind, when I come to London next time. I have been to the Chelsea flower show for a whole day 4 years ago. It was hot, I always moved in a crowd and it was so exciting, it gave me so many inspirations, this mixture of feelings is still vivid to me. Best wishes to your mom. I understand she is waiting for a hip replacement, waiting for an operation when you need it so much is very hard.

Jessie how is your mom? What happened if you don't mind telling me. I got to harvest one of my buckets of first early potatoes today and they were awesome. I went ahead and planted a second round of radishes about a week ago and I can't get over how fast they came up and grow. I'm not going to plant main crop potatoes this year I want to use the containers to grow more tomatoes so I can make tons of salsa tomato juice and tomato sauce. I'm sorry it took me so long to write you but my wife is not doing good at all Jessie. She is in the last stage of copd . It absolutely breaks my heart to see her in the state she is in. I promised her years ago that I would never have her put into a nursing home and I have managed to keep this promise. I'm sorry but I have tears now. She has been my entire world to me. I live to hear her call me to come help her lol.

I clean mine twice a year, when putting the insulation up and then when I take it down. It’s a job I never look forward to but when I’ve started I enjoy and it looks amazing when it’s done. I just bought some citrus cleaner and hose attachment to scrub the windows and frame. It’s been a slow year for me this year. Hopefully will get my dahlias, cannas into the garden, to make room for my aubergine, peppers, melons, cucumbers, tomatoes in my greenhouse. To be honest I need more hours in the day. Tip for your trays: use clay leca , its just brilliant! Plant roots will grow into it if you ‘forget’ to pot them on, can be reused each year

The deal that includes HCP is with the Historic Royal Palaces membership. It includes entry to about 5 places for a year and I think you get 15 months for the price of 12 just now. I don't work for them but I have a ticket to see Jodie Comer in Prima Facie for 15th June and had looked into coming to London for a few days and hitting all the hotspots which is why I know about the deal for the palaces. I've never done Hampton Court or the Tower so I was gonna cram so, so much into a short trip. BUT I'm not going to go to London now. Boooo. You can have my ticket to the Jodie Comer play if you want, it's just going to get wasted anyway and it's front row (although I only have 1 ticket as I was going myself like a total Nigel!). Anyway, I love wee Lily cat so much. Allotment looks fab, and it does seem like the water works could have caused the issue with the toms and the basil at your home Jessie. I wonder if you could find out for sure somehow?

I've just been offered a plot so I'm watching your channel for inspiration. It's very overgrown but has a lot of potential. Your allotment looks beautiful. I love how you've laid out your beds and the arches. Are the grass paths hard to maintain with mowing and weeds? Are you doing the no dig method? Also what size is your plot? By the way if you can I highly recommend buying some flamingo pink chard seeds for incredibly fuschia pink stemmed chard. Also since you mentioned the pronunciation Chioggia is pronounced 'kee-oja.' In Italian, ch = k sound and an 'i' or an 'e' after a 'g' creates a je sound.

😍 I enjoyed that video so much (well, I always do LOL) - that ferry ride is just my kind of thing, must look into whether it still makes sense as late in the season as I'll be there. So you think it's a good time to sow chard right now? I don't usually restart until around July (afraid of bolting during the summer), but your climate is similar to ours and if you - the chard lover par excellence - think it's fine, I might try it as well... My beans are still waiting to go in - I will be away for a week soon and I don't want cropping during that time, so I'm later than usual. Your unidentified one would be Merveille de Venise (a pole bean, can be eaten fresh/mangetout)

Hi Jessie I wonder if you have any idea what my pest problem is please. Every time I put my peppers in my poly tunnel something starts snacking on them. It starts at the base of the pepper where it joins the stem there is a hole or even a trench chewed out of the actual pepper near the seeds. Last year I never noticed it until I moved the pepper which was stunted and saw the hole I opened up the pepper to see if I could catch the culprit but all I found was black seeds. This year I managed to catch it before the seeds shrivelled and went black I’m thinking that something is laying it’s eggs among the seeds for when they hatch and why I can’t catch it is because the pest has left the eggs behind and I’m never around to catch the little buggers hatching. I haven’t got enough gardening books with pest disease’s in it so maybe among your many books you might find out which is bugging me 🦟 🙏🏻

Last week I left a comment here, I also posted in your Instagram page and emailed you, offering some tomato cuttings (some of the varieties you were growing) and I have failed a response. I thought of not saying anything else, but I would have resented every time I watch your videos and I don’t want to stop watching your videos because they make me happy. I know technology could have played against me, and perhaps I would be criticised by my fellow followers because they like you a lot. Honestly, don’t feel obliged to accept the cuttings (you might have a mountain of offers already) but it would be nice to at least to get a “no thank you”.

Jessie always has a backlog of emails as she's so busy and her Mum isn't 100% fighting fit right now, so I really don't think you should take that personally or presume that youve been snubbed. She probably won't even have read your messages yet so resenting the lack of response and leaving a public complaint about this is a bit off.
