A pity no one listens to me but: With the carrot seed in a container on your side, it's easy to pick out a couple (maybe even one) seed at a time. Drop that seed (couple seeds) through a clean pipe. Directly where you want it to land. Move the pipe 5cm and repeat. No bending (almost laying) over the bed to plant. No thinning necessary.

A new chicken, thought then maybe new kitten . My nearly 1 year old young male has been missing since 26/03/23 ran out garden door been searching everywhere but nothing n when I see the carrier I started to cry as I thought maybe you had a new kitten, but heh a new hen is still magnificent. Love your vlogs always look forward to them, my 7 year old granddaughter loves watching your vlogs also getting her into gardening early 👍🏻👍🏻

Hi friend!! Just a quick note to say that I do believe if we were neighbors we would just get along splendidly!! Been watching for a couple years and you are definitely part of my tribe😊😂 I'm in Ohio in the United States. Hamilton, Ohio to be exact. Just north of Cincinnati which is at the bottom of the state in the left-hand corner. Right above the Ohio River. And Ohio is right below the Great lakes of Michigan if you've heard of them! And this whole area is right below Canada 😊 I love going on your journeys with you and watching The daily puttering around and I hope to soon have some Wirley girlies of my own. I have a small backyard garden and I have a kitty cat and a bunny rabbit that both run around the house together and have their own litter boxes. I've been gardening since 2019 and I'm in love with every little piece. Cheers🎉

Here on the North Coast of California we are finally seeing some spring weather. We are still getting frosts at night, and snow in the coastal foothills. My Windsor Broad Beans have survived one of the toughest winters I have seen here in my 57 years, and are in full bloom. I went crazy on early potatoes and planted 97 pots of them, and they are all up. Like you my next planting will be squash. I am planting Bush Baby Zucchini, Spaghetti Squash, Waltham Butternuts, Table Queen Acorn, Kuris and Delicata. For pumpkins I am growing Rouge Vif D’Etampes, or Cinderella, Sugar Pies, and possibly a blue variety called Sweet Meat. Love seeing Mom sitting in the swing and Lil laying in the sun on your coat. Your content is a relaxing escape from the insanity of the world, and a reminder of how important the simpler things are in life. Enjoy the sun.

That's it exactly! I find the common varieties work so well here, but the unusual varieties can be harder to grow, less prolofic or more prone to pests/diseases. Unless it's a new cultivar or a variety from abroad that is new but good for our climate, it's common to find that actually - the old/common varieties are better. I won't stop experimenting, but I will stick with some good old favourites each year to guarantee myself the good stuff. Well...as guaranteed as it comes. Cheers Jessie and love to your Mum xx

Hi Jessie an advice from across the pond 🤗 if you put the radishes in ice 🧊 water 💦 for at least 15 to 20 minutes b4 you are going to use them they get really crisp!! I learned it from my mom ❤️ she used to make very pretty easy flowers for the salads with them!! 🇬🇧🇺🇸

I am growing achocha for first time this year. I grew up eating achocha. At home we stuff it with mince and potatoes and, I reckon, steam it afterwards - I have never cooked it. That and white stemmed chard are my Colombian additions to my London garden, so far… I reckon there are new girlies in that box - not a new cat. But let’s wait to next week.

I prefer to let my radishes flower, then produce seed pods. I think they're just as tasty. I treat them rather like a mange-tout; they're really crunchy. Also, you get so much more from your sowings. Lovely plot. Well done!

I’ve cut right back with my vegetable seeds. I planted out my salad crops which I use a lot of, I’m growing more flowers this year, get more enjoyment from them and will help save me a lot of money rather than buying bouquets. The vegetables I’m growing are favourites, pepper, tomatoes, cucumber, sweet corn, beans, peas, broccoli, carrots and Brussel sprouts. Green side up tip about sieving compost help with pricking out saved me loads of time. Another tip I have been told, to take the tendrils of the sweet peas, you get better flower stems.
