this cabinet was a much need build for the shop, since i sold my prototype tool cabinet to my buddy ‪@CharacterRedWorkshop‬
this tool cabinet is modeled after ‪@RobCosmanWoodworking‬
i scaled mine to 113" long 22" deep and 77" tall with 25 horizontal drawers 9 vertical pull out drawers and 56 smaller drawers.
this tool cabinet has 7 different types of maple incorporated into it, maple plywood, ambrosia, maple burl, red maple from Connecticut, quilted maple spalted maple and birdseye maple 🍁
the lumber was sawn up with my good friend Ben. and his woodmizer.
other products use where: ‪@KaproTools‬ ‪@Titebond‬ ‪@powerprohardware‬ ‪@MinwaxUSA‬ ‪@lowes‬ @bessyclamps ‪@GatorFinishing‬
i will do a video of what it costed me to build this tool cabinet, and believe it or not it's not as bad as you think.
hope you enjoyed the video and the progress of this tool cabinet build and keep making!!

It was a little flimsier than I expected. I had to add a 2x2 piece of wood to the bottom on the rear side in order to stabilize it better kzbin.infoUgkxXTh-lz-8W6GcB219vTLp27-MxbZYObBX . It is also starting to bow a little at the outer wall ( I've had it up for about 6 months), I've already had a shelf tumble down because of the bow and the fact that the little shelf brackets are quite short. I went out to home depot and got some longer ones so that the shelves don't tumble down again. Overall, it looks very nice for the price and it holds a lot ( I use it as a pantry). I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just strongly suggest reinforcing it before putting it up.

Ha, WOW. As a Rob Cosman fan and being very familiar with his hand tool cabinet (which as far as I know still isn’t complete lol) this looks spectacular, although I think if Rob was to utilize the space behind the plane till he would’ve put more hand planes ! Nice work.

At 13:45 ... all I could think of was: Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.

Thanks brother, this was the main reason i chose this design because it has so much to offer in a upright cabinet and vertical drawers, and still have room to add a few things here and there. Definitely working on a tour of the cabinet and price because several will be blown away on how cheap this build was.

Wow! That is my overwhelming response to this build. Very professional. If it were mine I might add a maple “headboard” to the top with a two-man saw backlit with LED and your logo centered above that into the “headboard” not trying to be picky, as it is, better than any thing I’ve built!

Thanks Tim really appreciate that man, i do have a name plate that I'm going to add to the center top section, I've named this tool cabinet in honor of my late father that just recently passed away, i was thinking about doing a headboard above it but i decided to keep it fairly simple, and with my banners above the tool cabinet I'm sure but i do want to put something up there, i have a old saw to display. @@justinbyers1441 It was a great video. Well worth watching the entire video. I would be very interested in hearing (seeing) how you made design choices, like the size on your drawers, and the general planning that you dedicated to this project. I would really like to tackle a similar project for myself, but have been struggling with the design. My problem is: I don’t have the space to spread everything out, so it is a big question mark as to just how much space I need to dedicate to deep versus shallow drawers, etc. your hand plane till looks to be about perfect! Any chance to learn about its dimensions would be fantastic. Thanks! Oh, and your “hydration” area is an absolute must have! Safety First!

Thanks Philip really appreciate that means a lot, i tried to do it justice, i looked at so many different one's and styles over about a 4 month period before i came across Rob Cosman and his design, after watching his about 100 times 😅 i made a prototype as well, and then came up with this one for my final design. It really has all the most use for every inch of this design.

You did such a good job on that it's totally awesome! I'm wicked jealous lol! I love that you put lights in it and how you designed spaces and hangers in the vertical drawers and areas to hold specific tools! I don't know if you have many cordless power tools but if you do the only thing I think could be an improvement on it is if it had s space to put all your cordless power tools, well I guess u can use the drawers for that, but It'd be nice to have a place for all your chargers and batteries somewhere up top to charge all your batteries. Anyways great job it looks amazing and I hope you enjoy for many years to come!

I see pros and cons for building it all in one unit across. Any specific reason you didn’t divide them and screw together after? Six units would be how I would make it. I’ve seen it in the background of Rob’s videos and always found it attractive and organized. A sort of playhouse with the way it has varied storage. Definitely my style but when Rob has been asked, years ago, I think he said there were plans but he wasn’t going to release unless he finalized more of it. His prototype became permanent. Beautiful wood choices that really knock it out of park. Now you have to uphold that standard for all your shop stuff. That’s how it started for me.
