The hardest question is "how's your week been?" I have no idea, I can't remember emotions that well. I can only try to tell you how I feel in the here and now and even that is a struggle.

3:54 this is such a revelation for me! I had an experience like this (as an undiagnosed neurodivergent, with a neurotypical therapist) that led me to give up on talk therapy for several years! I even asked the therapist for a different approach but she said basically that what I was asking for wasn’t something anyone could give me basically. Looking back with this new view and now knowing I am legitimately neurodivergent, I can see that what I wanted was more structure - but I also didn’t know how to ask for it.

Ive noticed a lot of therapists are autistic or cptsd/codependent rule governed.....and its tick a box intervention they offer.....imagination/no imagination....autistic has as many presentations as people....shop around for therapies im ND i love talk therapies and creative interventions and occupational therapies...but i end up researching to the nth degree when coregulation to get over my abusive emotionally neglectful parentifying immature bpd npd autistic mother.....is hard as trusting anyone after her is hard...up to the age of 50 i had no idea why i was born...ive worn myself out trying to get her acceptance but she cant see me as she has no self everyones competition to her....i hope u find a good therapist....as the safe polyvagal supporting ones are for me wonder full

@ I have found a great one now!! I did some research and got a personal review of this one from a friend. She’s super great and also great at allowing me to change the direction of things when needed. Sometimes she misinterprets how I’m reacting to something but she’s really good about me interrupting, setting straight, and then jumping off the clarified info.

I've been a consultant for two decades. Very often when we get to a client they'll tell us "we want you to implement Best Practices" and we have to explain that "best practices" vary from industry to industry and company to company; we need to begin by understanding how they work and why they work like that. And once we do, we can help them do it "better", but we define "better" by their own criteria. I don't try to get them to work in the way that I prefer, but in the way they prefer. I've been in the situation of telling a group of people what their corporate values and culture were, because they had thought they didn't have any. Literally. "You guys have been working together for three years, we're sure you do have a corporate culture; we'll work with y'all to figure it out". That's what I would expect of a therapist: to help me dig information which I have but don't realize I have, and to give me information which I do not have or will simply never realize on my own. If I wanted to talk to someone who keeps asking "how do you feel" I could train a parrot... or make a ringtone and keep playing it, it would be cheaper.

GoodWill Hunting. Matt Damon And Robin Williams characters were close to mine and my guys relationship. The movie mimics core of my own life.. except not as buff as Matt. No awareness of ND. We were brilliant together for 13 years. Other drs. Would describe, recommend him as out of the box. I had brief experiences with others whom I fired straight away. So forever grateful my higher power gifted me with him. I could feel him for real feeling me in sad moments. My heart bleeds for others as guys gals like he just are sparse. So much harm out there. Bad was I learned too much about people without training to turn that off for myself with others .. know in moment their behavioral issue or sociopath etc. I would prefer to be ignorant. Just want to offer that if someone does find a magical psychologist they don't need to be aware of ND. If not a specific ND related issue need help with. We all share same issues Regardless that someone awesome can help. Worked amazing for myself. Not too many greats out there , so leave our ND out? and take advantage of great psychologist. Personally i wouldnt trust other then psychologist.

It's the thing they put in the gutters to stop the ball from falling in. They use it a lot for kids. :)
