I'm fascinated the impact of something I have absolutely no use for has created so much desire in me; I think it must be the admiration of the quality of workmanship and sheer decadence. I don't even have the two servants required to carry it for me.

What a beautiful piece..Well rescued from it’s life of darkness.. They certainly knew how to travel in style back then and how to make “a big suitcase “a thing of beauty..Absolutely love it.!!👍

I find your channel very educational. I have been to Oslo at least 10 times (for work) but had no idea it was formerly known as Kristiana. And I now know what a Dobby loom is. I suppose this type of trunk is the forerunner of the modern flight case used to transport electronic equipment.

Thank you …. Oh for the days of porters at stations etc…. They were built to travel and to last…. I’m glad there is a place still for them in home decor etc🤝🙏

This chair and the box on it looks like ancient Egypt furniture to me

The luggage stand is English and the trunk is French. Coincidently the earlier video showed an LV trunk originally bought in Egypt🤝

Helping the algorithm with a comment. Had hoped to visit the shop in about 10 days but now looking unlikely sadly as visiting family for the weekend nearby but they have my visit all planned out

Families do that. I’ve family not too far from London. Each visit I plan a few days in the city. Never got there yet. I love them but they can be a little OTT. Oh, I like shop too, would enjoy seeing it in real life.

Personally, I am not enamoured by the idea of a trunk as a table or any kind of ornament. And they are pretty useless as a functioning piece of luggage. I do admire the craftsmanship of the trunk and would spend hours trying to research its original owner and its history. We do have a large living room (80’ x 25’) in our converted barn and have an old laundry basket as a log box but I wouldn’t dream of using such a trunk for that. So, not for me but clearly there is a large market out there
