My dad was one of those GI's who came home and then he watched TCs racing on the streets of Watkins Glen. He was not able to afford a TC until 1963 and I remember his excitement then. His was a white car with black interior.

I owned a 1946 TC. Mine was a full blown race car.. Bought in 1965 for $800. Way over bored and sleeved, Custom rods, pistons, everything balanced, lightened flywheel, hot cam, custom exhaust, exhaust manifold, 1 3/4 SUs, cross flow head. Steering box upgraded, custom shocks etc, Borani 15" wire wheels (yes 15 inch not the wobbly 19s) Custom roll bar and so on. Streeterized to enjoy blowing off Porsches and other "sports cars". Wish I had not sold it , but it went away so I could buy my 1959/60 Fairthorpe Electron Climax. Your car, very nice except.. the hideous, unnecessary hood/bonnet louvers. Hope it had the Thomson Kit steering.
