Beautiful car. My first car was an MGB. I hope to have a TC. TD, or TF before I leave this earth.

I’m saving for one and I’m 15!! Really hoping I can find one as a project car to restore and use as a daily driver in a couple of years. If anyone has any knowledge I’d really appreciate it!

7:07 What a pity that sweet TC sound was drowned out by the brash sound of high pitched revving in the background.

TCs are the best looking out of the . I always wondered why the doors were cut down. It makes no sense to do this. The car would still have awesome looks with a straight top door line. This one here is a beauty though.

A bit fuzzy on the history though a beautiful car. The TA came quite late in the development of the MG Motor Company. The Midget, the first "true" MG came out in '29 and differs greatly from the TC. The TA was not well received at the time because it departed from previous MG's in that it had an overhead valve engine for one. MG at that time had stopped sponsoring racing and working with Wolseley engines created the MPJG engine which was and inferior engine to the XPAG. The TB of which very few were made before WWII broke out as the car came out in '38. Incidentally, The Great War was the name given to WWI not WWII. The MG TC which came out roughly 6 weeks after the war ended was virtually identical to the TB in all aspects except that the body was made slightly wider. The biggest difference between the TC and it's prewar counterpart were all of the things that it lacked. There were few options at all offered for the TC and the first cars produced only came in black. Incidentally, surplus army paint was used on the scuttle and engine for early cars. The cowl is the cowl and the bonnet is the bonnet, they are not interchangeable descriptors. There are a few items that are incorrect both specific to your year partly conditional on production number and others that are true of a wider number of TC's. First your hooter and fog lamp are the wrong way round. A rexine dash would not be issued with the black instrument panel and map light bases. They would be in metallic tan with black lettering. I don't mean to nitpick and there are other modern items obviously added for safety but it's obvious that a lot of care was taken to get the restoration on this car nearly perfect for the year. That said, again it is a beautiful car. Cheers

The T-Series wasn't the first "true" M.G., in fact quite the opposite. It was a departure from what is considered the "real M.G.s" of the 30's with its pushrod engine instead of overhead cam. You could say that the TC was the first model that wasn't what a purist would call a "real M.G.", or a "Kimber Car" meaning cars designed by the company founder Cecil Kimber before his departure in 1941. But the TC was the one which introduced the USA to sports cars in the 1940's and paved the way for the Corvette and Mustang, both created in response to American manufacturers losing sales to British sports cars through the early 1950's. The TC is the granddaddy of modern sports car racing in North America and an important part of automotive history.

@JJZBULLITT109: "The TB of which very few were made before WWII broke out as the car came out in '38". Actually, April 1939. The last TA was manufactured April 17, 1939 and the first TB was registered after that but before the end of April 1939. Only 378 TB were made before the end of production, which was late October 1939 (not before WW2 broke out).

Pfft, I'd drive my Honda Rebel on the interstate all day long at 60mph. 250cc vs 1500cc You do not have to drive the maximum speed you know. It's called a maximum, not a mandatory lol. Are there really people otu there who see a 70mph speed limit sign that think they must drive 70mph or they'll get a ticket>? lolz
