It's so good to see you pick a real lock. I know you're on a mission but lots of us still want to see you use those skills.

Do I even want to know where he gets his tools from? LPL: Something, something, *Lawyer/Client Privilege*, something something. :)

He has a workshop. He makes a lot of his tools himself

The real question is what lock does LPL have on his door?

Picked in like 50 seconds, more like de-guard your door.

You have to put this in perspective. LPL is working in laboratory conditions with just about every concievable lockpicking tool to hand. If it doesn't exist, he'll call up Bosnian Bill and they'll invent a tool. Burglars either do not bother with locks at all, rather finding a way to bypass them, or they'll have tools for a specific type of lock. For instance in an estate neighbourhood, where all flats and houses are keyed by the same counsel housing coporation, a burglar might carry a bumpkey for that brand of lock. But more often than not they'll force a window open or shim the door or use the old bent-coat-hanger-through-the-mail-slot technique. None of which have anything to do with the quality of the lock cylinder at all.

Have you even watched any other LPL videos? You'll be way disappointed if you think this lock isn't secure.

Interesting lock. The lack of drill protection is a bit worrisome, as that is likely the only way 99.9% of criminals (the ones that don't just break a window or kick in your door) would get in. Watching a lot of LPL's recent vids with crappy locks that can be raked or opened with common household objects, it's easy to forget what an experienced, skilled picker he really is. He made short work of this thing and opened it at about the same speed that I can probably get through a Kwikset or Master lock. Great, informative video as always.

You can tell from the comments who hasn't been around LPL's videos for very long. I saw the length and knew there was going to be more than just picking involved here.

Good to see you back to picking stuff that isn't absolute junk! It's more expensive, of course, but also more interesting IMO.

The ease with which you pick a lock you describe as very secure (and explain why) freaks me out a little. :o) But then, there are other combinations of dexterity and motor control, precision tactile feel and the ability to represent mentally the fine movements needed, like, say, playing a violin at virtuoso level, that are hopelessly beyond my reach and that of vast majority of people (including, I hope, burglars.)

It is nice knowing, these, and other locks, would present more of a challenge, when mounted in the doors/ locations, and not so perfect environments, where they will be used in practical situations.
