Dear lady you are such a treasure and lovely story teller! I just found you as you popped up on my feed for you tube 2 days ago. I just helped my mother in law go home last October to her dear Lord. She was 102 the day before she died last year. She lived with my husband and I for 40 years and helped raise our children. She had so many children and grandchildren and great grandchildren who adored her so much! Worked in her garden every day year round and kept chickens here. So many beautiful stories of her life were captured by her writings and in the memories of her tribe. You are such a blessing to give us these treasures ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. Also you remind me so much of my own grandma and I’m a grandma myself but you never forget those precious memories!

My dear Granny Pat, Eight weeks ago I lost my beloved father. I am feeling your words very deeply as I hear of yours. I guess we have this in common: we had loving dads who did what they could to raise us well. Thank you for sharing these memories on this, my first Father’s Day without mine. Much love.

Oh GP...Your Daddy was a fascinating man and it's no wonder you loved him so much. He embodied everything a father should be. Your story parallels my Mother's story about her "Daddy" in so many ways. You made me laugh at the "fuss and cuss" skirt scenario. Congratulations....you are already up to 11K followers. WTG GP!! ❤

I loved this story! Beautiful! Your dad sure was a hard worker. I felt sorry he had to give up that convertible. It seemed like he worked so hard all his life and wanted to buy something for himself and then having to give it up was so sad! I’m so happy he approved of your choice of a home later in life. Such a beautiful moment you shared us. ❤ Looking forward to your next video! You look great! 🤗

I love your stories Grandma Pat. My dad passed away from Alzheimers nearly 3 years ago & mum, who was coming up for 80, looked after him. It was dreadful seeing him literally forget everything, who he was, who we were etc. He used to make me toys back in the 70's when I was a kid, & gave me the job I have now, & still love doing. My brother & I were lucky. Our parents gave us a lovely childhood. Lots of fond memories x

It's wonderful to hear these stories, full of history and just good old story telling. I did Not have a father like that, sadly. He was selfish and divorced my mother when I was 5. I was lucky, my brother not so much, as he was 15 years older than me. So, I love hearing about loving, unselfish Dads, thanks so much!

My Dad died when he was 30, I was 8. I understand what that is like. I am sorry you had to go through it also. My mother was extremely extremely abusive. So it was a very difficult childhood infact it wasn’t a childhood. To this day she has never been interested in me or my children, my children never had any grandparents or extended family at all. I didn’t want that for my children but it happened. Hopefully you have a better life now and hopefully you have happy memories of your father on Father’s Day.

It is the most important thing you can do in life and it will make you a better person. I am so thankful that Jesus is my Savior and Lord, because there are things that only He could have brought me through. Still today I need his guidance and love! Hi Granny, Pat, I loved hearing about your dad, and what a fine man he was. I was the daddy‘s girl and I just adored my dad. I did everything with him when I was growing up because I always wanted to be with him. He was the fun guy, always taking us kids to the movies and playing with us. He took us to church every Sunday. He died when I was 30 years old and that was 42 years ago. To this day I miss him and the great influence he had on my life. Thank you for sharing. All of your wonderful memories about your dad, I enjoyed this so very much. Love and blessings, Sheila.

This was wonderful. You about brought me to tears. I loved hearing all about your daddy. It sounds like he lived a good, rounded life. I can hear how much you loved and respected him and how he adored you (in that final conversation). My daddy died in 1995 about 2 weeks after my 19th birthday and 1 week before his 55th birthday. My parents were separated when I was like 3 1/2. I really wish I had him longer. I hope you share more about him in the future. Happy early Father's Day to you & your daddy in Heaven.♥️ ((Dallas, Tx))

I understand…… my Father also died…just after my 8th birthday. It was devastating as my mother got far worse than ever and was abusive to me. With a brutal mother and no father it was horrible. My father was 30 when he died and 30 years to the day my son was born on the day my Father died. I named him after my father. Sometimes the cycle of life comes back around with a pleasant surprise. My son was born 2 months premature so he wasn’t supposed to be born on the anniversary of my fathers death or was he. I wish you pleasant surprises!

Precious memories from a time gone by never to be again…things are so different now…and not necessarily for the better. Those simple and many times hard times made strong people. So many stories of my family-from both sides-maternal and paternal come to my mind when you speak of your childhood. If my dad was alive today he would be 90 years old. He was a very complicated and harsh man and I was his only child. He was very hard on me growing up but I knew he loved me and I loved him. I was at his bedside when took his last breath at age 83. I think of him every day and I always will. The older I get, the more I understand and appreciate why he was so hard on me. You are a very special lady and I appreciate and enjoy every video you post…!!! Sending love and big hugs tonight from rural Georgia. 💝🙏🏻💝

I loved hearing about your dad. He sounds a lot like my dad. He was a self employed electrician/cow farmer. I bet he wired every new house during those years in the county and did repairs on all the others. My mom always laughed too that she would have to hire someone to do repairs at home before she could get him to. Both of my parents have passed too. I regret I didn’t pay enough attention to all the good stories they would tell. I need to write down what I do remember and question my sister while I can. I also laughed when you mentioned the funny “frog” town name. We have some funny ones here too as well like Toad Suck and Possum Grape. Ha ha. Have a blessed day and look forward to your next video. I was 11 when he died after a two year prolonged illness. I still actively mourned his loss (I mean daily) until my mid thirties when I came to terms with it. My step father was the one who did some of the things your Daddy did. I LOVE hearing your life stories. You are the BEST find on KZbin I have had this year. Please read beyond the beginning: My dad was never really a part of my life, he was not a good person. My mother got a divorce when I was a baby to make sure I wasn’t abused by him. So my grandfather, her father, was my “father figure”. I think about him as my dad because he taught me all the things a dad should teach a son. He was born in 1916 and sounds like he and your dad would have been fast friends. He was a good man with a simple mindset about life. Very loving heart underneath, but he was always serious about things. All business. And oh how he would surprise us with major purchases like new cars! He also loved to plant fields of watermelons and then take them to the farmers market to sell in big trucks. I’m rambling a bit, but I just wanted to thank you for bringing his memory back to me today by sharing your story about your dad. I lost him when I was 15 yrs old, and I’ve missed him ever since. I know you feel the same about your dad. Thank you again for bringing a smile to me today. Love your stories, I watch them all. And I’m gonna make your banana pudding for the fourth!

Well I’m crying.😢❤ What a beautiful Daddy you had. That’s such a blessing! It sounds like you & your Family were such a close and supportive Family. My Daddy raised my baby Brother & I when my Mom had some issues. And my Grandma helped raise us too. He is the best Dad and all of the Neighborhood Kid’s would ALWAY’S come over & talk and get advice from him. He grew up on a big garden too. His Dad had such a beautiful Garden we loved to pick all of the Fruit. We live in Michigan. My Dad was diagnosed w/ Throat Cancer 5 year’s ago. My Mom passed away the same year. So me being the oldest naturally I handled her Funeral and I took my Dad to his Chemo, & Radiation Therapy every day 45 minutes away. That same year a lady did a U-turn and totaled my new car! And my cat that I loved so much died. But God got me through. And my Dad made it. He lost his voice but he met a wonderful Woman while he was in the Nursing home recovering. She’s a PT. I feel like God spared us and didn’t take both of our parents. Anyway’s thank you again for your story. I really enjoyed it.

You dad sounds exactly like my dad except mine wasn't strict. He was a Sunday school teacher for 12 old boys & then for the newly wed couples. I can see him now preparing his lessons. He was also a decon & usher at the Baptist church. Kind & lovng & caring. In fact that is the same church where I married. He was a master watch repairman. All the folks from church brought their watches to daddy for repair. You should have seen our yard that he terraced from huge rocks he dug up. That yard was beautiful. I miss him so much. I know he's in Glory. Not because he was kind. Not because he was a Baptist but because he asked Jesus to come into his heart & to forgive him from his sins. That's how you get saved!!! So simple even a child can be saved. ❤

Beautiful! I hope you have photos of his natural creations. My dad was also a deacon and usher. He sang in the church choir for years. My sister referred to him as Moses on the Mountain. We didn’t dare whisper in church.

@@chitchatwithgrannypat7900 nope, no talking nor giggling in church. My only brother got in trouble for talking to his buddies on the back pew. He was too old to sit with his parents. You wouldn't want to hear my daddy sing, especially in a church choir. Oldest sister has a voice of an angle. You & I have so much in common with ourselves & our family members. LOVE YOU.

Thank you for sharing stories about your father, Granny Pat. Sweet memories. My husband’s mother died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 52. I never got to meet her. She found out she had it in September and died in January. What an awful disease. Your dad sounded like an interesting man!

What an amazing dad! I loved hearing about him. Reminded me of my grandpa's story. He came from a family of 12 children and during the depression they couldn't afford to take care of all the children so his family moved away. He came home from school and found the whole family had left. How heartbreaking. He got a job at age 12 working for Pacific Railroad and worked there until he retired. He and my grandmother lived long happy lives for many years together.

That brought a wonderful picture to my mind of your wonderful childhood. I was just crying away 😢. I never encountered anyone that never had anything bad to say about my dad. He was a trickster I remember people saying lol. I was 18 months old when my father passed away of throat cancer, so I never remembered him. Anyone that has a chance to have both a good mother and father, are some special children and my brothers and sisters were some of those children. I had a great mom and enjoyed everyday I had with her. I know how painful it is talking about how great our parents were and how much we miss them. I loved your story and it took me back of growing up with my mom and grandma. I had such a wonderful childhood. I am so thankful that I found your videos, you are such a special woman!!!! God bless!!!!

@@chitchatwithgrannypat7900 From what I remember My Dad was one of 4 boys. All gone now. My dad passed in 1998 from cardiac arrest his at 68 yrs old his pace maker battery failed. His Dad built the house I grew up in NJ. It was the first one on the block. My parents lived there with his Mother after his Dad passed, when they were first married. When Grandma Knapp died my parents took over the house and raised 13 children there. My Mom passed in 2015 from heart failure and stroke. My dad had many businesses after the war. He was always self employed. Worked long hard hours away from home. When he was home on Friday he always brought candy and treats. In the summer he’d pass out ice cream from his ice cream truck business. He’d pass ice cream out to the neighbors too. He Loved his baked goods at the local bakery Deb Pams on Sunday after Church. We went to Catholic Schools and Catholic Church. Dad was always giving a check to the pastor after mass. He was a generous Man. My Dad was stern but kind and generous. Mom was stern and kept us in line if we miss behaved at church on Sunday. I remember her nails in my hand if I was talking. Lol. Dad was a funny jolly Man and loved to dance and joke around . Swimming was his relaxation on our vacation at the beach and we would watch him sleep in the waves. We took turns to make sure he didn’t fall asleep out there. The ocean calmed him. He loved to boogie board with us in the waves too. In the evenings at home on the weekend he would blow his whistle at night for us to come home from playing with the neighbors and if we didn’t come quickly we were in trouble. He would always gave us a dime to call in case of emergency when we left at night to visit those friends. He had his rules but loved us dearly. He had 2 knee replacements, cataracts and heart issues-pacemaker. I have memories of the ambulances coming to take him away, it was scary as a child. We had to split up and stay with other family when Dad had heart surgery in Chicago by his brother the heart surgeon. Worst part was myself and my children followed in his footsteps with heart issues and health issues similar to his.
