119: Memorial Day - The True Meaning

Thank you Sue, for this reminder. I always cringe when I get e-mails claiming Happy Memorial Day. It honestly makes me wonder if people even remember what a memorial actually is. I try very hard to not buy anything from the 'sales" ads listed under this title. It's a day of respect and honor to those who have fallen for this land, and their families that are still here. May we too, remember their loved ones that are now gone. So, to the families that are still with us, I pray for peace, on this day for you, and thank you, for your families sacrifice to keep us free.

This was a wonderful reminder of the reason we set aside this day. To remember all our soldiers who gave their lives in war and to those who lost their life serving in military duty. We always see businesses and companies advertising sales and promotions, we hear about special events and gatherings scheduled for this day, the purpose of Memorial Day gets lost. Thank you for the history of the day and thank you for making the reason the main focus.
