Fabulous. So proud of her being one of the few who has dedicated her life to protect the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. She did an amazing job marching along with her brothers and holding command. Blessings to her as well as to all of our fallen soldiers who have served this great country.

The day women fall in combat to the same rate that men do, is the day they will get my equal respect. Until then, that equal gender policy is just b.s and political correctness at its worst. I deployed several times and i don't remember many women on my side at the front line. In fact, there wasn't any!

The slow respectful walk...it reminds me of the way a military soldier salutes a fallen soldier at their funeral. It gets me everytime in the heart when I see it. I'm from a totally military family. Our Dad was saluted that slow, respectful almost reluctant for it to end salute at his funeral by one of our younger soldiers in the family. That walk is the same way. Theres something about serving your country and paying the ultimate price that leads our collective hearts to bleed.

I am a veteran and the level of professionalism is amazing that we see in this video. The hardest thing I had to do when serving was write a letter on behalf of my Squadron and the U.S. Air Force for the loss of their son who was assigned to our unit, the 92d Security Police Squadron!!! I was an NCO on his flight, he was awesome to work with!!! Rest in Peace Steve Collins!!!

We always forget the other part of the military, the women. It's strange how women in the military never forget to include their brothers in arms, but the brothers many many times exclude them. Sexism is everywhere, but it's heart is in the military.

They put in regarding the insync movements they make down to the appearance of the uniform which I understand they spend many any hours off duty, working on the uniform, we as Americans should be totally proud of these individuals, their is no other entity that even comes close to the precision the soldiers execute.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier contains an UNKNOWN from World War One, World War Two and Korea. First Lieutenant Michael Blassie was interred with Full Military Honors when he was identified as per the Family's request.

@@tommyodonnell9 Yes, you are correct. The Original Design in the early 1920s was for a single tomb to Honor the Unknown American Soldier from The Great War as it was called then with little or no foresight for future wars. World War One was a pre-cursor to World War Two and in many respects the world today a hundred years later is still dealing with the repercussions from THE GREAT WAR.

How can there be females? The Old Guard is an Infantry unit: its TOE [Table of Organization and Equipment] calls for 11B MOS. 11B is [or was??] closed to females, although females can possibly serve in non-Infantry [CS and CSS] support functions. Don’t misconstrue my intent/meaning. As a retired Army LTC, I served with female soldiers from my service as a 2LT through retirement as an LTC. Females can, and do, execute the same duties as males in most ways. It isn’t the gender that makes the soldier, it’s the soldier’s professionalism, devotion to duty, patriotism, and love of country.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! The slow action is meant to be dignified and respectful. I thought they looked like toy soldiers who need winding up again! And what's with the feet movement when they halt or turn? Looks like they're trying to shake out something that's crawled up the leg of their pants.

Obviously you have never been to the Tomb. If you had, you would understand how glaring the sun's reflection is off all the marble. The sunglasses are designed by Oakley specifically for TUS. They are only worn when necessary.

@@molemarden5188 that would ruin the look of the uniform… The glasses are I believe so people can’t see who or what the sentinel is looking at. Same reason the US Secret Service wear sunglasses.

:D No military has such a ridiculous move as these weirdos. This is not "silent marching" but gay sneaking. :D Anyway thank you very much for the guard. Salute from Germany

Lol. As if the goose step was a “normal” way of walking. I mean goose stepping is one of the most ridiculous ways of walking to show “respect”. Speaking of “gay sneaking”. Look at the evzone guards of Greece.

@@aquilifergroup I cannot confirm that the German military "goose step" marches. That might have been the case 100 years ago. 😂🤣

She looks very sloppy. She doesn’t look like she meets the height or weight requirements to walk the tomb. Its sad they lower the standards so women can guard the tomb.

I confess it is not my idea of drill either but it's a cultural thing no doubt. It's still extremely hard for them to do.
