Lucas. Nice job. Suggestion: Flip the levers upside down. Cut holes in the table with cables leading to a food pedal. Put return springs on the levers and use your foot to perform the press. Your right-hand grabs an 11th-finger, sets it in the jig. While you depress the foot lever it can go get another one. The left hand takes the completed item and stacks it in your output box as soon as the press is completed. I'll bet you can do 7 or 8 in 15 seconds that way.

I would do the same approach bit with pneumatics. Two small spring return air cylinders and a foot pedal on the floor with a couple 1/4 hoses could do this. The thing I like about a foot pedal for assembly is both hands are free to hold the part and grab the next. Toggle clamps are great for small jobs but once you run thousands of parts it is incredibly fatiguing. Paul, do you keep a stock of different materials and jig hardware on hand for your employees to grab and play with ideas like Lucas's lean improvements?

***** if they add air rams, they'll need to have it actuated with two hand buttons so that the operator can't have their hands near the rams.

From the video, if you haven't already changed this, maybe you'll get another .25-.5 secs if you standardize on having the magnet side of the finger down instead of up as it is in the video, then when you pull the part out of the box it's oriented for the direction you need it. and maybe instead of packing them all in the large box, make a thinner slotted box that lets you stack them in one stack so you can pull from it and it's always lined up the same way?
