You just be you, Clay I think everyone here is here because they enjoy watching you and being part of your,Donna, dogs and the whole teams lives. Not to mention some very special people as your friends. Not everyday normies like us (especially us older, almost 70yo folks) get to "be" with a real life top fuel dragster driver, his family, friends and team. Just be you. Like always......

@claymillican25 you welcome. The fact that your channel is not full of profanity and crude jokes is such a plus and rare today. The giving to animal shelters/ rescue is suge a huge plus. I lost my Boerbull dog to a Cape Cobra bite in the face at the end of December. He was a beautiful, gentle soul to my wife and I, and a terror to any outsider that wasn't "introduced" by us. Magnificint guard dog and companion. Working around my small homestead he was my constant companion and protector for just on 9 years and his loss has left a great big hole in my heart. So to see you with your two, and know you help, its good because not many do. Heck, they dont even help their fellow human beings. Kudos to you and Donna........blessings from South Africa

Those Gates heat shrink clamps are the chit. Can't think of all the times they would have made a project easier, cars, equipment.. gotta get some. Hard to believe heat shrink would have the strength to provide the necessary clamping force. I use heat shrink for a lot of off-label things, but I have switched to only adhesive lined. If I need color, I add no-glue colored shrink on top. Shrink is great for stopping/preventing rope fray; if you have a flexible light or magnifier that won't hold the weight up, cover it w/ shrink. If you need an insulated alligator clip, slip some no-glue over the clip & carefully shrink the wire end. I'm sure there's more... just can't recall.

Loved the story time video! It's great to hear how your journey to top fuel progressed and about the connections you made along the way. Also, you did a pretty decent job with that portion of a song for a guy who can't sing, I knew exactly what song you were reminded of! Which probably makes sense since we're pretty close in age...you said you graduated in 84 on a recent video, it was 85 for me. Rock on Clay, looking forward to chatting with you at Brainerd in a few short months...

Yeah I remember watching that video when the window cracked. Nobody seemed to mind though, if I remember correctly ! And I'm with ya on today's wiring. Why that whole gaggle of wires just to run 3 bulbs in the cargo light cluster ? Back in the '60's when I started playing with cars, I could've started from scratch and wired the entire car I think. Today ? NOPE !! Can't even understand the ones that are already there ! Hey, those Gates clamps are pretty neat. Only drawback of course is they're not reuseable, but nice clean look though. Ooooo--maybe put a little LED light down there so you can show them off 😂! Ok, waiting for your next adventure !!

Time 1156 electrical The best way to learn automotive electrical / electronics is to take a basic electronics course at a community college because this gives you insight as to how things work not just how to test them in an automotive environment. Night / weekend classes are your target as they are generally not for credit and don't have any real tests. Collect some automotive parts / connectors for these parts / wiring diagrams and talk to the instructor about your goals. This way these parts can generally be powered up on the bench for testing. Even bringing some failed parts will aid in learning what a bad part looks like.

Hey Clay, A lot of us would like to know how Y'all got started. I used to watch you when you were running IHRA Top fuel. It seems like you were always in the winners circle there. It's nice to know how you got started in Top Fuel and who helped you along the way. Thank You Donna!!! I used to have a 1966 Mustang that I ran on the street, more or less light to light. I stayed away from high speed races. Used to be the quickest in the town where I lived up North. I enjoyed that car and wish I never would have had to sell it. It was a coupe, I embarrassed quite a few unsuspecting chevy, they thought they had more cubes they could beat me. I would leave them at the line. Little ole 302 with a lot of my help. It was fun, now I drive a 1996 Nissan 200sx 1.6L Fuel injected, 5 speed all stock except for the air box where the filter goes, I kept the Filter in the box, but cut the bottom out of the box. I bet it picked up a few ponies, she really quick now. I put in E3 plugs into the 4 valve head. It's fun, but no where as quick as my Mustang was. GOD BLESS You Clay and hopefully a lot of Wins this year. Oh Yeah, Thank Rick Ware for us, for letting you "Stomp On That Loud Pedal"

I was the Chief Bailiff for a municipal court. I understnd the frustration with the fact people have to serve jury duty for a month...no one enjoys that. The problem is if they served for only one week it would mean bringinig in a new jury pool of 30-50 people in every week instead of once a month which would be very difficult. The logistics of operating a court can be...challenging.
@gullreefclub9 күн бұрын
Jury duty for a month is a uncalled hardship upon most American workers. I am self employed and I jury duty committed such as that would finically ruin me. Fortunately for me my state jury duty is 1 week or less and the sheriffs department has a very efficient system set up to handle the case load and the jurors required

Time 1512 Using a digital meter for diagnostics. These don't load the circuit very much and can cloud diagnostics at they can pickup stray voltage that won't otherwise carry a load. An incandescent test light works better as it loads the circuit leading to a dim or non lit condition if you hit stray voltage. Some use a power probe that automatically changes from sensing ground / power but I have not used one.

Used those Gates clamps about 8 years ago. Not only easy to use but they clamp well and last. Not the easiest to get off if needed, but holding power is awesome. Visually very classy also with no clamps visible or in the way.
