@@Jason1Pa we just got another one from harbor freight. Had our last one 6 years before a electrical post broke. Good winches for the money.

@@farmall51 Yeah for the money you can't beat it. I've seen them being used for commercial use and they seem to hang in there.

Jason, excellent video. I have had the same winch on my trailer for about two years now and have been very pleased with it. If I had a place to store my trailer inside, I would definitely do it. Yours looks immaculate! It's on my "someday" / to-do list to make a follow up video on my winch after a few years of ownership. I'd buy one again for sure.

That's good to always hear about happy customers. I figure for how much I'm going to use it it should last me a very long time. I'll be interested in seeing your review on your winch. Take care!

What is not to love about a John Deere A. You have a beautiful example. Love the sound they make. Nice video, I'm about to install the same model winch on my car hauler!

Very nice trailer and well kept. You can almost double your winch capacity by using a "snatch-block pulley" and double the cable back to the winch. Bad side is it cuts your winch cable useable length in half.

Yes I forgot to mention that in the video.

Great video sir!! I'm looking to buy one and so i came here looking to see what others say about it.. But seeing what it just done i'm more then satisfied that it works just fine! Also sir how do you start the John Deere? I saw you were doing something on the side of it?? Lastly You have a very nice set up ( Truck Trailer)!!

Hi Billy! Thanks for the comments! I did a lot of research and asking around about these winches for I purchased one and I really haven't heard too many complaints. I see some that are being used commercially and they hang in there. I figure with what I'm doing with it and for how much I'm going to use it it should last a while. To start this John Deere you open up two decompression valves (both sides of the engine) so you can rotate the flywheel on the side to start it. It has a magneto to create spark. There is no electric on it. Here is a old video link of me starting it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGbIhHiPeNqears

I watched another youtuber that does off road towing and recovery. He choses the Badlands over Warn. He said the Warn have always let him down.
@Jason1Pa2 жыл бұрын
Probably just like a lot of things the quality has gone down hill. With Warn the price is 3 times the amount of one of these BADLANDS. And if you really study up on winches they are all basically made from the same components and just given a different name. For example the ones at Tractor Supply are called Traveler. Other then the top plastic cover and the higher price it is a Badlands. I too have seen them on many commercial type equipment now. If they can handle that I'm sure with what I'll be doing with mine it should last a while.
@GuntersGarage2 жыл бұрын
@@Jason1Pa I agree, I ran into that when I was looking for a TIG welder. Turns out one company holds the patent for literally a page of welders on the market. Mine looks just like the one Eastwood sells just a different color along with some others Ive seen. However it doesnt compare to an industrial Miller or Lincoln.
@Jason1Pa2 жыл бұрын
@@GuntersGarage Exactly. And the sad thing is when one company dominates a particular market there is no need to test and improve on their products. Then what we get is junk. Nothing is better then two companies in completion to make the best product. The consumer wins.
