It's got a good vibe this league, feels like people are back into getting creative, after 1000's of hours I've even learn WTF ward is. Yeah. This is the best build I've seen in a long time. The defense is outrageous. The offense needs to cook a little longer, but it's close. Exceptional. I think a lot of us were dancing around this but couldn't come up with one or two critical pieces. Palsteron really did some exceptional work here. I would go so far as to say this is the single best proof of concept we've had since beta. People will create some truly transcendent builds using this as a base.

@@RamielLeung it is. The pob is actually a bit misleading. This build makes it so you literally can't be killed except by dots and one shots. And it's very hard to one shot you. In fact, if you really want to get spicy you can look up the damage of all monsters in the content you want to engage with and tell if any of it is over your max hit. If it isn't, they literally can't kill you. There are a few builds that are tankier than this, but they all require extreme currency investment. This template can be achieved with about maybe 40 divs. This is off the charts as a proof of concept. You don't see many builds like this come along. Give the optimizers a bit of time and you're going to see some truly stupid builds emerge.

Btw the explode boots charge Plaguebearer to full almost instantly on big chaos explosions on maps. Nice for some free single target damage on a toggle, since you're already facetanking. I've been experimenting with Trickster and Jugg with these boots for a few leagues for fun. Nice work Pals!

an idea to completely negate all the dots: tainted pact + divine flesh. If your chaos res is less than the elmental res you heal instead of being damaged. By any elemental or chaos dot. RF for free for example. Not sure if you can go without the balbala jewel since madness also reduces the flask charges gained. Also, you still need bleed immunity.

I will note for people that want to play this build that the waiting for your madness buffs can be very annoying. I've played a similar build in kalandra league (as a looper not a self cast) and if you have to leave maps for any reason you're then just stuck having to wait ~20 seconds for stacks. Sometimes you need to wait much longer because of bad buff rng. Now, this build doesn't need max stacks to be playable because you can get away with 6k ward like Palsteron says, but if you're doing this build on a lower budget or are just slowly putting the pieces together then you will feel the pain of having to wait around for so long to then be able to play the game. Additionally, if you can do mega damage to yourself with this setup you can override the life regen issue with just something like 40% recoup. 40% recoup at 10% regen rate is still 4% recoup. Do that damage to yourself enough and it doesn't even matter anymore.

Fun fact: Awakened Cast While Channeling negates the animation of being stunned while you're still technically being stunned. Combined with Cast when Stunned, you can use a channeling skill to trigger a skill, as well as have an entire other setup to trigger per every hit if you have a low life total. If you were to use something reserve life or Petrified Blood, you would have low enough life that you would always trigger your stun setup. Combined with any channeling and you can have a movement skill like Charged Dash, Cyclone, or something like a huge AOE Divine Ire, Eye of Winter, etc. Really wonder how that could work with this sort of lucky block Glad, some minimum endurance charges, fortify, etc, on a ward tank or ES on block.

I LOVE that you figured out how to use those boots. I'm a massive poison enjoyer and I've been eyeing those up for ages. However, I'm pretty afraid that without the haunted mods this build would kinda flop. You're getting an absolute MONSTER amount of damage/cast speed from having that mod twice and I think there is basically no shot it goes core. Cool build, bummer its probably league specific.

let me explain something if ward doesnt break, it means that 1 ward and 20k ward its the same. So you can get another armour that gets you more dps. This build i already seen it before, but i thought it was dead cause of modifications to olroth. You can see that when he tank the spheres and literally ward doesnt go off the max number, that being said i like it a lot. The problem is Dot, and for that you can go Doppelganger + endurance charges for example to mitigate.

1 ward does not = 20k as anything will bypass 1 damage 1 ward means 1 damage will be blocked the rest of the damage goes to your hp or es 20k ward means 20k damage will be blocked and you will likely never get hit unless its like... idk one of the endgame boss slams or some such thing

That's quite literally my poison spark build that i have planned in pob but still in the process of gathering currency for. Didn't expect to see a video of somebody remembering about such an off meta item. Also to counter DoTs you can use tainted pact, golden rule and other ascendancy that makes leech not remove on full energy shield. If i understand correctly heal from reversed poison damage is completely bypassing all sources of less recovery because it is not a recovery. It's a damage with an inverted number. Probably the reason why PoB can't calculate that mod. But even if it gets lowered it doesn't matter at all because your own poison deals so much damage that you are looking at millions of hp regen before reductions.

Hey Palsteron, what do you think about a similar idea that uses the fortification version of the boots instead with celestial brace gloves and replica badge of the brotherhood to stack max fortification? Messed around with it in pob but I don't theorycraft builds so can't figure out how to not feel as thinly spread damage wise while still being tanky.

Another route to solving DOT damage is Tainted Pact + Divine Flesh, but you'd need to solve flask charges another way (without the Traitor keystone). By doing this you CAN use other flasks, and even with greatly reduced flask effect there are other flasks that have effects that don't scale with flask effect, and you could EASILY set up a self-damage leech setup to give you always-on leech to permanently activate Tainted Pact. You can also bypass the action speed with a Garb of the Ephemeral animate guardian on any class, which will also (mostly) prevent crits entirely, though a guardian is not a completely foolproof solution. I'm probably going to workshop this and play it. I'd like to set up golems as well with Elementalist to utilize the Stone Golem of Safeguarding tech to take 60%+ melee damage from hits for you, which is pretty incredible as those are some of the biggest burst damage hits in the game.

I did use your idea a lot for my PoB of an Occultist version of the same Rolling Magma idea and it look to work better DPS wise which is not really surprising considering the minus chaos debuff of the Occultist and the Commander of Darkness that you yoink from the Necromancer There is the "more dmg" version with Forbidden Power and from what I can gather it already goes over the DoT limit for non Uber content. So I guess you go for Profane Bloom for easier clearing ? Sure you really have to have cast each 10 second a cursed ground with both Temporal Chain and Despair. I have a PoB of this in case you are curious. (The debuff are implemented like you did) (No Buff except the one you should have like Frenzy , Power and Endurance Charges too (Enduring Cry is nice)) . I think I forgot about Ignite ailment ? Also something I just thought. Wouldnt getting two Olroth just makes it easier to just sustain so less flask specific node and more "damage" one ? I would need to do the math but maybe ? Anyway I'm rambling

FYI DO NOT try this build unless you have 200+ div to throw at it. Without 9k+ Ward it feels BAD. You have to fix DOT damage else you just die with full Ward. I have a "budget" version and its ~4k ward and that part feels great but Bleeds and Poisons kill you and 90% chance to avoid still means 10% you are dead. I have a Self-bleed flicker that maps way better.

Just exposed my immortality build except I do it with 1300 int, a chest piece with 50% global defenses and 3k armor/evasion. Flesh and stone, purity of elements. I just went as hard as I could on physical damage negation to combat the increased damage taken. I didn't even think of the jewel strat on reserving life that is smart

Palsteron also with this setup you can go Pain Attunement, a lot of builds with Dissolution of the Flesh go Low Life because when you are about to die the aura/auras that you have reserved on life just deactivate and you get all that reserved life back in a instant, with this setup that you don't take big hits is even better since more or less only dots can remove the aura giving you almost no reason to no reserve half or more than half your life

How do you fix mana usage? I already use the 'reduced mana cost' passive node, 20/20 inspiration, clarity, -7 non channeling mana on ring and 190 non reserve mana but I still found myself running out of mana.

Could run one or more other auras on arrogance as Dissolution automatically disables life reserving auras for its damage replacing reservation, e.g. 5k life total with 4k reserved by auras + 2k damage taken => 2k life reserved for 2s and auras disabled
