get your fireproof chairs ready boys! ahaha you won't be able to play glass cannons anymore, no of course you can, but it will be risky how people will suffer, those who are used to playing poe1m running through the map in 1 minute, they simply won't be able to afford that in this game, also you won't be able to throw your corpses at bosses, re-enter during a boss fight EEEEEEE BOYS!

nobody asked and this is completely unrelated but I reallyyyy hope they walk back the design for shapeshifting that you take exponential ramping damage while in the form, kinda feels DOA to me.. in general to it takes away the class fantasy for me, they should make a keystone or support or something that makes you take ramping damage while in the form but do more damage BUT make it so default this just isnt the case. hope others talk about this as well because shapeshifting is a big deal to me because its something we haven't gotten to experience in poe at all.

They are trying to make boss killing the most prestige accomplishment. If we want to just blast we can in maps we can. And trade for boss summon materials. Poe1 is no different

Tbh trying to maximize block, relect resist, element resist, armor, evasion, ES, Life, etc. Was irritating as a blaster. Im glad they've added mechanics that are more skill based. Taking the time to dodge or space makes the game feel more satisfying as a player.

GGG still thinks they can make you grind for 3 months for every patch. That is what they are telling tencent anyway. I wish Jon or Mark would of looked at the big mistake VOH made with 300 paragon points that take forever to grind. Only streamers will do it. Same problem because streamers will be all for these things. The way POE has been going for the last two years has me looking at other games. I don't know if Im going to play Poe2 beta but I will not lie its looks better than what they were going with. I think there are things that are bad that we ain't going to see til week 1. GGG love to ninja nerf even if its to themselves. Can't wait to hate watch.

I don't think Jonathan has any idea what level of backlash awaits them. So many PoE1 releases were met with a similar hype at first and ended to be a giant disappointed and a dead league after few weeks. People want to enjoy the game, they don't care if GGG's game designers are happy or not.

So map portals mean nothing now? You effectively only get 1, and the only use for additional portals is for parties to enter? I'm.. not thrilled about that. I'm not a fan of extremely harsh punishments for failure, as I typically build skill in new games quite slowly.

I thought that Atlas death mechanic thing was interesting too. But it also made me worried about bad players, wouldn't it be possible for their game to be perma bricked if they manage to die on every node they can access? What steps are being taken to avoid that?

yeah it's amazing, players will now have to make their characters in a way that they can survive for the next 20 seconds upon server disconnection that happens once couple minutes cause fuck players who actually want to play softcore instead of semi-hardcore

"If you die then the map can no longer be run." this is the worst part of the new endgame for my coop group. this forces the players to be super cautious but not only that. this will be the most annoying part for group play! we had hope that there is a another way to punish reckless players. THIS is just the most annoying way and ruins group play more than PoE 1. :( sorry but this kind of game mechanics are to HC. even for "not casuals". i am super spectical about this. we will see.

Fromsoft learned with the Souls series that by reducing the distance from spawn to the boss with each sequel while making bosses more and more challenging, this gives players more chances to quickly fight the boss repeatedly rather than having to do tedious run backs. this seems like a step backwards from what already works

It will be interesting to see how the new atlas navigation will work. If atlas will be endless and spreads in all directions, how quickly we will be able to find what we want to run. Let's say, we are far out on one side of the atlas, and on the other, we have saved a boss run, which we want to do now.

I actually really like the idea that defenses matter in softcore. I played a little last epoch and having to play well and live through the maps actually made the game feel refreshing.

It depends on the difficulty of the bosses. If they're as difficult as Elden Ring bosses, and you can't attempt them 1000 times like I do when I learn bosses (I'm old), then they'll have to change this system because it'll become so frustrating to lose rare encounters with no way to try them over and over. If the bosses are pretty easy and quick to learn, they can probably get away with this punishment on losing. I still think it's an unfortunate choice for slow learners like myself.

Blizzard with a big head as usual. They may have made the ARPG genre mainstream with Diablo, but they were far from the first. Diablo came out in 1997. The genre goes back to the 70's with many earlier games classified as ARPG.

This is not a good change. The slowdown of your grind should be the only downside for losing in softcore. There's a reason hardcore is not as popular as softcore.

Devs said they expect you to die a couple times per boss. So if people are surprised and salty for dying then they are hopeless

I would have made it so if you die, you can re-enter to finish and pick up loot but not to get completion. So any atlas point coming from completing or killing a boss would not be given if you die but you could still learn the mecanics. Because our first breach, delirium or even ritual might be realy deadly, even without any upgrades on the atlas.

One of the biggest things i want to see changed since it seems they kept it from poe1. Bosses having energy shield. They added this in poe1 to punish you for corpse rushing. But now that this isnt a thing, bosses dont need it anymore. PLEASE GGG, Please remove bosses having energy shield in poe2
