The old girl of farmer p is still very modern. And if I.may say. She was a futuristic one. They kept the new stuff to the old good stuff. That the front linkages is the same as on the new type. The big question wil be. What will biskit think of it. Higher view on everything better ride. And of course what does the paper work say and the big boss of the farm. Mrs p.

Ian, this is a honest opinion of someone that is prefering min-till to no-till: Fully plowing a field is fine - under conditions. One usually is if your weed pressure of near-resistant weeds is exceedingly high, like black-grass / foxtails. Plowing, however detrimental it is, is one of the few ways to really reduce the weed population. Another one, is as you said, to make a new field or put a meadow back into production. I dont even think you need to spray it dead - plowing it nice and deep will take care of the weeds and their seeds.

Its a real shame that 125 doesn't have a front end loader to get a like for like test. Personally I prefer the idea of just having straight horsepower rather than boost although the potential fuel saving is something to give consideration too.

I may be wrong, but it looked like your own tractor he ad the 4wd on during the test, which would effect the turning circle. At least, the tyres seemed to be scrubbing quite a bit.

If you’re going to put your new tractor on the hedge trimmer I would highly recommend getting a bonnet protector we got ours from a company in Ireland and it’s only like 400ish quid I can’t remember I think Adrian from iF I farm we farm has on his Massey tractor highly recommended good stuff

Good of you lan to be thinking of your mate , it's a worrying time with the drought , a lot depends on the onset of winter plus whether we get an early spring too , l hope things work out for all farmers who are now beginning to worry about their stock winter feed ! Good luck with another tractor trial , from a personal opinion we ve always had / used Massey Ferguson and l cant see us changing to another name , but its what's suitable for the individual farmer. !

Decisions decisions, I prefer it to the massey which seemed a bit blingy to me. The T5 looked the part but if it's basically a blue case why not stick with what you know works. Also saw my scrawl on the barn wall. Fame at last. 👍

Something got me as the drone caught the Case entering the yard, like it was the 1, have to say, the Case guy knew his product exceptionally well. Hopefully they come in with a bit better set of numbers for you. Case are definitely not a common tractor in NI, and out of the KZbin channels I watch, I think you are the only 1 with a Case, and although they got a few months on Tom P farm, he didn't buy 1. So brand advertising opportunities should have Case HQ helping the dealer's with a pencil sharpener lol

Brilliant turning capability, no cab post in the way when hedge brushing, better hydraulic pump, not sure of vision for loader work compared to the Massey. I think you said that the blue one had better gear box, but it is a tractor, not a rally car. Personally I prefer this dealer's manner, but it is your money not mine. It certainly looks the part, with enough grunt when needed. We wait to see if you need a crash hat and padded cycling shorts !!!

Ian your grass ! Are there any local dairy farmers near you with an abundance of slurry that you could utilise for your fields . From watching guys like you I'm learning that a soaking with slurry enriches the soil resulting in a better grass yeild the year after , weather depending . A new job for your potential new tractor .

@@FarmerP Steal the Funky farmers slurry! He appears to be avoiding any association with slurry storage after getting forced to install it. The new slurry tanker now sits at the far end of the field seemingly unused, you could test it for him to see if it works properly!

I get the feeling that what you want isn't made. Tho I suppose a 150hp Lindner would also be a fair bit pricier compared to all these single steering axle tractors. How far away is a Valtra dealer, a nice N series spans your need range. You can get em with a reversible seat "twintrack" as well.

dont forget to take that bracket off your case if you go for this one, i can tell you like this 125, its simple and does the job you want it to, question is what they offering to make it worth while? if they add a loader to sweeten it, i think you gunna take it at the right price...

You can drill wheat in first week of Feb, just need a few cold days for vernalisation. Not ideal but point is no rush. You would want to u and bale grass by early Oct later is risky. Plenty of time to drill wheat. As you are following grass and deter has been banned later is better really.

Should take them old bales out to that ground you intend to plow, unroll them and plow em in. Lord know fertilizer isn’t getting any cheaper and it should be just packed with nutrients for the crops to come

Is there a loader option for this one? You really did seem to benefit from the 2 runs in the NH/Mass buy not having to run the 695 across first. Saves you both cost (Fuel) and time only needing one tractor, Plus you then don't need to leave it out in the field unattended.

Stylistically I prefer the Massey from a front loader point of view the Masseys slope bonnet offers better visibility than what I feel the case does. Now I wouldn't say no to the case because it a stunning looking bit of kit but it would have to be all about the numbers if if they can offer a better deal than what MF have. Massey maybe cheaper let's say but what you need to ask yourself is quality, and in the 18-20 years you've had your MXU how many times has it or CASE let you down, over the years I've use all three and l Know Case is superior

I mentioned in a previous comment on a previous video in this tractor series that I bought a maxxum 125cvt and I quite like it. And I do! But I want to say that they are not great loader tractors. The massive bonnet, blinds the loader almost completely. You need to use the level indicator and feel around. For bales it’s not too much of an issue, but anything precise or say pallet forks you need someone guiding you or you chance stabbing something you’d rather not. Not insurmountable. Just a nuisance.

One day I will u turn a tractor, no day in hell I suspect you will walk a tight circle/piroutte in stilettos but I open up the challenge via your daughters...they, like Ginger Rogers, can farm/dance in heels backwards.
