I have to say, I really like that wild forest cut out with newer plants. All of the house pictures are nice, but cutting out some natural woods and planting and putting fun decorations is a really good idea. I'm in Indiana, ready to buy a large (10+acre) lot in the country and am going to do the same and also make a native prairie out of some of it. Jim I can't tell you the impact you've had on so many. Thanks!

I had to laugh, I told my hubby the other day that I want to expand the beds come spring to add the next rows of plantings and he said, "Ot oh, Jim gave you some more ideas, huh?" 😂 He loves the out come but, being 76 he hates the work. He always says, how he is impressed at all I have learned from you! Thank you Jim! And all these before and afters are beautiful 😍

Love the videos, so happy for your travels and glad you told us where you were. I was wondering about the beauty behind you. I am really surprised when you introduce the Canadian videos, that they are in such a warm zone?

LOVE these transformation photos and your narration also. These before/after gardens are so inspiring giving me lots of content to ponder over during the winter. Had to chuckle at Kayla's comment about her husband getting nervous LOL

Hi Sir, Love your informative channel. What can you tell me about the lilac tassel flower? This past summer they began blooming in my garden in different flower beds and even in some of my flower pots. They're absolutely beautiful. I've been researching them here on KZbin, but nothing indicates whether they're considered perennials or annuals. I wanted to gather them from their various locations throughout the garden beds and pots to put them into one flower bed. It's quite a few, from 20 to 30. They have just bloomed out of the blue this year. I would love to hear your suggestions or thoughts?

I have some plans to replant my garden beds with natives, but I freeze up for some reason. I feel like I have to get everything just right or else it will be ruined. It’s annoying because I know that’s definitely not the case.

Oh no! I sure hope you overcome your fears and dig in!! If it ends up being “wrong” you could always move them to a new spot. Have you tried placing the plants still in their pots and leaving it for a little while to see if the placement suits you? I do that and I’d say I get it right the first time about 75% of the time. But it easier to move them around and play with your layout if they’re still in pots above ground. Best of luck to you!!

Sounds like you are losing the fun of it all! Just put in a native plant or two and watch the pollinators in them.

Have you tried to draw a picture of your space. I found that helped my anxiety with the layout of our front flower bed and remember always have fun. BUT if you can’t think about it anymore, give yourself a break. Your garden is going to be there tomorrow. Sending you hugs! I hope it you break through the stress. If no one told you today, “You can do this!!!!”

Do as one of the commenters suggested, start by planting one or two. I did…starting with three native plants very early this year, and slowly added more native. By late May, the pollinators flocked to my garden. It was spectacular.
