On the subject of the Knipex, as a Maint Mech I took mine and on one end of the handle cut away about one inch of the covering leaving the steel underneath showing and take your 4 1\2 grinder, grind that end to a flat point. Now you have a small but very handy pry. Used many times to move a motor into place for bolt alignment or to pry off a drive belt. Uses are endless.

I work as an industrial mechanic and do repairs and maintence on machines in a very very large meat factory. That knipex set is a big time saver for me. I have very limited space for tools in my overall so walking back and forth to the workshop just to grab the right tools cost a lot of time. That knipex set is for sure a tool box.

@slaterfrei7665

The water filter that you mentioned is the sawyer micro, then in the description you linked the sawyer mini, but if you are going to be using he filter a lot I would recommend getting the sawyer squeeze. (These are the three different sizes.) But I would recommend the squeeze because it has a higher flow rate than the other two and it is less likely to get clogged. (The other two tend to get clogged, especially with tap water, and do not have as long as a life span.) Also the squeeze can filter up to 100,000 gallons of water! But the one downside is that it is a bit bigger and heavier. They retail for around $20-30 and another accessary that I would highly recommend using with any of these filters is a different “dirty water bag.” Most others have a larger opening on the opposite side from where you would attach the filter so that you can fill it up entirely in one quick scoop. Most also come with caps so in a pinch you can use it to store a couple of litters of extra water. Bags like this are sold by many companies and range in price but compliment the sawyer filters very well.

Striking plate on screwdriver helps in moving rusted/painted/stuck screws and bolts - put it in the slot, give it a twist until it stops, now start tapping with a hammer while continuing to twist, works a bit like an impact driver. I still remember the blisters from helping my father work on renovations. Removing old wood screws with surface rust on the threads and twenty years of paint in the slot is no joke.

@robertkywildcats9266
@robertkywildcats9266 4 жыл бұрын
@@dukefanshawe6815 Same thing with it too. Almost all of them are made with those tiny hollow fibers. The problem is when you suck water through it, you don't really know if all the water is out. Then one of those little tubes freeze and now instead of having microscopic holes it has large enough holes for bad stuff to get through. It's ok to freeze if it's never been used though. A steri pen is a good option, although good ones are pricey now they make rechargable ones now. Or keep your life straw close to your heart lol, so it doesn't freeze. If all else fails, water pur tabs or boil it.

Been watching Cody for years. I don't get his vids always and sometimes, I don't agree with his personal philosophies, but nothing depends on that. We're all entitled to our own opinions. However, I'm going to say right here (and you can quote me) Cody is a very dedicated guy when it comes to recommending tools and equipment. He's not going to suggest something that he's not put hours of use into. I've watched him make his own tools or make existing tools better. He's for sure a "proper" tool user and if he recommends something, then you know it's good. I'm really glad to see a vid pop up in my feed. Been a while and I feel like I've met up with an old friend. Kudos to Cody et al!

The "Best" pliers made are "Parrot Jaw" pliers. I picked up a set while in Europe in the early 70's and still use them. Mine are German made, but Channellock also makes them for under $20. Put them on a shaft or pipe and without holding the lower handle tight, put full force on them. They just do not slip.

Cody I'm a Floor Technician at a Factory and I bought the ones you're talking about. They are very handy and the pouch is nice to. U don't even have to take ur belt off to get it on. It's similar to the clips on some Gun holsters. ONE TIP: REPLACE THE PLIERS U GET IN THE SET WITH A 6IN COBRA! The one it comes with is a hair to small in most cases. But it's still handy to have. FYI the pouch is big enough to put a Allen wrench pack in as well. It's literally 95% of what I need in a pouch. VERY HANDY AND I APPROVE THIS GIFT IDEA!

My, what a lovely and psychotic thumb nail pic for the Holidays. Just so warm and fuzzy right now.

I can recommend Olight flashlights, my personal favorite is the S1 mini, not much bigger than a AA battery but can shine at 1000 lumens.

@Wranglerstar what's the link on the belt? It looks a bit off in the list.

Itchyban lol Love it. Like the background you are using for this as well. Sure wish I had a big workshop like that. I wear the Salomon shoe version of those and cant recommend em any higher. Bought a second pair I liked em so much. The Merrell moab 2's I compared em to just arent near as functional and feel clunky(I own a pair too). The Salomons are lighter and not near as fat feeling.
