Thanks, Matt and Ryan, for honoring my Grandfather, Carl! He is a hero, although he'd tell you that he was just doing his job. It really means a lot that you are helping to spotlight these guys, our Greatest Generation. Telling their stories keeps the memory of their sacrifices alive. Thank you.

Pull the wrangler decal off for sure. This build has me looking forward to the next video on it. My dad was 82nd airborne veteran (passed away July 4th last year gone to early). He drove a few willys in his early military days and turned a couple wrenches on them.

Gas decal needs to be smaller. Thought I wasn’t going to like the grill, but it looks great based on your theme. Love your channel.

Awesome build. Short of a early military color body wrap with color matched parts, you've done a excellent job. I'm truly enjoying watching this build.

Absolutely LOVE the cohesive look coming together with the color matching. Looks so much more unified and purposeful. Great choices - one of my fav builds on your channel. Just get those fenders matched, please. Also, I have bought several things from Distinction Applied and they all came out great.

I'm a USAF vet and Gladiator owner. I'm truly liking the color matching on this build. Suggestions: remove Wrangler sticker, color match the wiper arms, find a set of wheels that are throwbacks/color matched, get a tan top and seats. Most importantly, change out the front fenders for color matched flats. Keep up the good work on the build and tributes!

If it were not for the men and women who've served in our armed forces for the past 250 years, we would not have a United States of America. Thank you for commenting on one of our veterans from the Second World War! Andrew McKane IV, 5 January 2025, Maunaloa, Molokai, HI.

Thanks for creating this tribute Jeep I think you are doing a great job and I know my dad would have appreciated it also (he passed a couple years ago}. He served in the USMC for 30 years, serving ww2, Korea, and Vietnam. My grandkids are keeping the legacy going, my grandson serving in the Navy and granddaughter serving in the Marines. This comment is under my wife profile but wanted to say outstanding project Sir! I actually got to drive the last M151A2’s in the Army back in 1986 at Fort Dix New Jersey before the Hummer replaced it. I will never forget the great time we had driving them in the driving range that day. I had a two door sport, back when I left the service in 2008 and once my son was born, I trade it for a sedan as it was more practical. Now watching you Sir on this project has fired me up and I had to go get a Willys 41 as a tribute to The US Army and all the soldiers I served with. My spouse wasn’t happy of course so I put the blame on your channel as an excuse for motivating me, just kidding. Thank you for sharing Sir.

Thank you for your service! Our country has a 250-year history of depending on the men and women who serve in our armed forces. A. McKane IV, former hospital corpsman, U.S. Navy, 24 August 1970 to 10 November 1971.

I was worried about all the color matching and don’t like to make judgement mid build, but this looks awesome. I understand getting choked up, my grandfather was a dispatch rider, and his younger brother was a tail gunner in a Lancaster. Yup, Canadian here, the younger brother was shot down and didn't come home . We were raised to remember his sacrifice, and still at 59 years of age every time I tell the stories of my grandfather's and his brothers (3 of them went) WWII memories I get choked up. It was horrific what those young men had to do, but it fills you with so much pride you can't help but to weep.

I think you are hitting a home run!!! Nice follow through on the concept of doing a war style Jeep. I want to recommend not doing the cliche air vent decals for the location of the nose art. Picking up my 2 door wrangler in ‘41 this Monday! So glad I stumbled across this channel. Seeing all these color matched parts is making me drool 😆. My wallet is already feeling the burn. How do we think some tan-type seat covers would tie in? 🤔
@HiiImChris12 күн бұрын
On the grill, it would be cool of the grate texture in each of the slots was either removed or painted in a black so dark it looks like it's open. Imo it's just the texture in each slot that makes it a little much. Stil looks good

i LOVE what you have done so far ! SPOT ON ! i’d do the same as i’m a military jeep nut. Yes, pull off the Wrangler decal. Maybe the only change might have been round lights at the rear, if available. Can’t wait to see how you change the fenders. Probably a flat fender style up front ! And others have said, a tan soft top, again if available. Any thoughts of a different tire tread design ?

I love the color matching. It looks good and honors the theme even though black accents always look good also. The decals not being perfect also match the theme. Original Willys MB decals weren't meticulously painted on as they were military vehicles. Remove the wrangler logo, strap some shovels and such around the outside, and modify the fuel tank to fit under the driver seat are my suggestions.

When you do your thing with the fenders you should put the tire pressure on them.
@backwoodstherapy16 күн бұрын
I know you’re going to do what you want with the build, but might I suggest some wheels that look close to the original military style ones, with some skinny knobby tires? Toyo makes a 255/80r17 mid terrain that measures out to about a 33.5” tire and you could run that with no lift, especially if you change out the fender flares. Can’t wait to see what you choose!
@AndrewBaker92416 күн бұрын
I really like this Willys Jeep build so far! I agree Matt about having the taillights as a simple halogen. They look good color matched and fits the build well. Don’t know what your plans are for the tires and wheels. Maybe you can color match the current oem steel wheels and put them on a set of 33 inch at tires.
@ChandlerHill-mb8my16 күн бұрын
Thank you guys for this build, it speaks to the respect you have for our country and those men. You are doing a terrific job! I love the taillights, probably my favorite, but it all looks good, each piece is purposeful, the anvil on the side badges, how thoughtful, and to share the reason is just great! (Do take the wrangler stickers off ;) I really look forward to the fenders, I’m hoping for a steel fender that carry’s the old flat fender look. I’m sure you’ll pick something fitting! Seriously guys if there’s any way you could get a set of wheels from jeep’s new 41 edition that would be an AMAZING touch. For real!!! I don’t know if it’s possible to match the tread from the old days, but as skinny of tire as fits that rim would be so cool. Idk if that’s possible or feasible but I’ll dream about it in the mean time lol! I’ll be happy with whatever you guys do with it, you are doing such a great job. Honestly I am so excited about this build. A wonderful time period of our nation’s history, and you guys are doing an amazing job honoring it. Thank you for your time, energy, resources, respect, honor, and heritage you are investing into this build. It’s wonderful guys

Very cool build. I look forward to the bumpers, fenders, and interior changes. Question… Assuming you guys will be folding the windshield for shows later this year… how will you tie it down since the bumper covers close-in the tie-down loops? Perhaps they can be modified to work.

I might be a loner on this but I would have loved to see this 41’ build up, in a matte paint job. I think it’s a great color but it’s too glossy or me. 😅 I’m still eager to see how this turns out 😊

Agreed!
@LukeEdward16 күн бұрын
@@DIRTROADCRED100% agreed! Steelies with 35x10.50R17. Coker does a Tornel “750-17” that would look cool, too. Maybe even paint the wheels “‘41” colour, as well. 1.25” body lift install would be just enough to fit them. And, perhaps this is self-serving, but I don’t think ANYONE has done a well-done video on body lifting the JL’s, yet.
