I'd rather have regular mirrors than cameras. Cameras make it feel more artificial while mirrors reflect the reality as is, which I like. But I think it's a matter of personal taste, though.

News Flash, you won't have any blind spots if you adjust your Mirrors CORRECTLY. Other than having the back up camera to show what is directly behind your car while backing up, you don't need cameras all around your car.
@SmallSpoonBrigade3 жыл бұрын
Not true. Without technology you'll always have at least 2 blind spots. Or do you have xray vision to see through the columns?
@Love2Cruise3 жыл бұрын
If you adjust your side mirrors so that the sides of your own vehicle are barely showing on the inside edges of those mirrors, there won’t be any blind spots. Why? By the time vehicles in the next lane moves ahead and outside of the side mirror, it would be visible within your peripheral vision. If they are slower, once they are out of your peripheral they are in the side mirror and eventually your center mirror. But that’s assuming people use mirrors. With a snowstorm coming, let’s count how the drivers out there driving without clearing snow off their side mirrors and back windshield.
@jmackinjersey13 жыл бұрын
@@SmallSpoonBrigade Extremely true. If you set your mirrors properly, you will not have a blind spot on the sides of your vehicle and will not have to turn your head when changing lanes. Simple way to do it is to sit normally in the seat, position your Left mirror until you can barely see the rear of your car. Then tilt your head to the left until your ear is as close to your shoulder or toughing. Then adjust the mirror until you can see just the tip of the rear quarter panel of the car. Then repeat the same on the Right side of the car. You will then see a car approaching from the center rear view mirror. Once that car travels on either side of your car, it will disappear from the center mirror and then appear in the left or right side rear view mirror. As soon as the front of the car disappears from the side mirror, it will be next to you and you will be able to see it in your peripheral vision and then continue to be seen clearly by your eyes. Same in reverse as you pass a car or object. I've been using that technique sine I've been driving, back in the 80's as a kid on a farm. Never sideswiped or had any sort of incident like that.

I get really tired of awkwardly-sticks-to-your-dashboard crap accessories that fall to the floor the first time you make a sharp turn.

You did not mention that you cannot talk on an amateur radio without a license. That is something that has become a problem lately is that there are people buying ham radio transceivers and talking on them without a license resulting in problems for those like myself who are licensed by way of these people interfering with communications by licensed radio amateurs who are helping during natural disasters. I am all for people joining the hobby and getting their license and getting on the radio but I don't like people getting these radios and talking on them without any knowledge of the rules.

You forgot to mention that the law requires a license from the FCC to use that radio. Big mistake.

Well at least dont use ham gear for cb frequencies and display it for the world to see ... lol

This exactly. I'm an amatuere extra ham operator myself. Funny how they totally didn't mention that part.

You don't need a license to use that radio/transceiver since it is in the 76 to 108 MHz range.
@hbicking13 жыл бұрын
@@jmackinjersey1 as that radio transmits more than 4 watts an automatic cb license would not cover it's use on those frequencies.

Tire chains are NOT new, cool, or even convenient. Better to just get winter tires for winter driving. They work a lot better overall for most snow driving conditions.
