@mjanny6330 Жыл бұрын
@Rara-pr9wg A hoodlum can be anyone from a dangerous thug to a young person who's just up to no good. The exact origins of the word are not known, but one theory is that the word derives from hudelum, an adjective that means "disorderly" in dialects of German spoken in and around the region of Swabia. A similar-looking word for a young troublemaker is hooligan, but that word is not related to hoodlum; rather, it most likely derives from the name of Patrick Hooligan, an Irish youth purported to have wreaked havoc in the streets of Southwark, England, in the late 19th century. Nice try lol.

When I was in middle school I had a classmate that would repeatedly attack teachers. He would throw chairs at them, punch them and cuss them out. He only did it to the female teachers and there was an elderly female teacher that got most of his abuse. I was always shocked to see him back in school the day after each incident. He would attack teachers at least once a week. He lived in the foster home that fostered all of the boys in our small town. The foster parents were wonderful people, he would also attack them, they refused to give up on him. I think they used the fact that he was in foster care as an excuse for his behavior. All of the other boys that lived in that same foster family were well mannered.

I was in three foster homes, they would have beat me to death if I attacked them. These kids these days cause fear, they don't live in it. That's the problem these days, kids have never felt cold, hunger, loneliness or fear. They have no respect because they've never been spanked.

Texas… do we see a theme here???? I teach behavior management in Texas- the kids deemed too dangerous to be in the general ed classroom- some of these kids have hospitalized teachers and staff repeatedly. Once they make it to my program, there is virtually no consequence for their actions. Most of their parents are college educated, professional enablers. Using mental health as an excuse not to discipline. It’s crazy.

I honestly believe that the behavior of a child is not always a direct consequence of their parent(s) or how they were raised. Some mental illnesses can skip generations, and even in the most loving families, the kid goes off the rails, and has nothing to do with the way they they were raised. I personally believe more in-depth studies need to be done for this, instead of blaming bad parenting for a disturbance in offspring.

Here's the TLDR summery: mental illness and learning disabilities are not an excuse, they are explanations. Just because someone is autistic, scorpionic, dyslexic, have Asperger, or anything else they don't just get a free pass to do whatever they want. As a parent you are responsible for your child's behavior and teaching them right from wrong. There is a huge difference between an excuse and an explanation!! It's your job as a parent to stop and inform your child when they're doing something wrong and punishing them appropriately. This is even more important if you're the parent of a special needs child, as it may be harder for them to understand at times. There have been too many people that have committed horrendous crimes including assault and murder because their parents never taught them how to control their anger or how to react in an appropriate way. When I was in High school, I was SA by a boy that was special needs, I never found out what his disability was, but there was some debate whether or not to press charges because of his disability. My family and I ultimately decided to not press charges. However, this was not because of his disability it was because of both the school's and his parents' responses that gave us confidence that he would never try it again. We also made it very clear to everyone involved that the statues of limitations, how long we had to decide to press charges, was 4 years and if he said anything about it to his friends (bragging or talking sh**) or ever did anything like this again there would be consequences and we would press charges. His parents were furious with him, and they understood the gravity of the situation and they didn't even try to use their son's disability as an excuse. I do think my dad would have pushed to press charges if his parents didn't respond the way they did. But to us it was clear that he was getting punished both by the school and his parents so we believed that pressing charges wouldn't do any good for anyone. But even in this situation his disability was NOT an excuse, it was simply an explanation and a small factor in our decision.

Common theme I find: students got their phones confiscated and they got violent = spoiled brats who shouldn’t have been given phones to begin with and parents shouldn’t baby discipline their kids. Kids need reality check. Don’t keep allowing them to do as they please and only punish them with few words. You think people or cops are going to just give a few words to your kid if they threw a punch at them? Nooooo… they’re either going to get aggressively handled by the cops or get more than just a punch back; they might end up dead. Life can only put up with obnoxiously ill mannered kids until they can’t take it anymore and the kids would get what’s coming …

The fire department was called and we all had to be outside for hours. They cleared the school so he called in another one. Good times. (We got to go home every day...which was why he was doing it).

It's not that the parents don't do enough, it's that starting mid 90s non parents, parents who were bullied incessantly growing up & helicopter parents got this HUGE swell of support behind not minding their own damn business & households . So this loud minority made such a ruckus nationally about SOME parents using the rod a li'l too often that now NO parent can backhand their child into ceiling for the blatant disrespect of societal norms without going to jail & CPS just utterly destroying their life. But if you don't get your children under control, using their methods, they want to punish you hard for that also. Now we have weirdo MAP adults, demon teenagers & ultra disrespectful to their own grandparents young children. The pendulum has been swung back towards modern parents & governments believing the old adage "spare the rod,spoil the child" because they 1st hand the destruction it's brought forth BUT the governments are caught in a bind since they exactly say "go dust off grandma's paddle, oil up that belt your grandfather left your daddy & go outside to measure out a good switch that you can hear break the sound barrier as it slices open a dimensional portal through the air... it's open season on hunting bad children behind." Sometimes violence IS the answer & that's something no modern government will admit it's ok for its citizens to do locally.

Exactly! lack of discipline from the parents, or parents just don't care to raise their kids properly.

I really hate that starting mid 90s non parents, parents who were bullied incessantly growing up & helicopter parents got this HUGE swell of support behind not minding their own damn business & households . The pendulum has been swung back towards modern parents & governments believing the old adage "spare the rod,spoil the child" because they 1st hand the destruction it's brought forth BUT the governments are caught in a bind since they exactly say "go dust off grandma's paddle, oil up that belt your grandfather left your daddy & go outside to measure out a good switch that you can hear break the sound barrier as it slices open a dimensional portal through the air... it's open season on hunting bad children behind." sounds to me when the system fails we need to be able to put our children in line without all these laws to "protect" them. but what about us? we can't do anything. they just allowed to beat on us and expect what? nothing?

Ok I want to get this off my chest and what I'm about to say is from experience from elementary to middle school it It was horrible it was like a prison and anytime someone goes to the teacher they rarely do anything about and many times they also mess with students too and when a kids are put in schools like that then go to another school we stuff like this I remember two of the kids I went to school with who were also horrible ended up on the news where one beaten an old man outside of his car and no I'm not sure if she took it and the other proceeded to attack another student on the bus where the bus stop and everyone draged the bully off to protect the kid and the bully didn't expect that to happen what the problem is that it's not always the parents fault and it's not because of zero corporal punishment it's the environment kids can be easily influenced by other kids and by horrible teachers that is there for the paycheck and that is one of the huge reasons why we have this new fancy buildings are not enough you good teachers and people who have good psychological skills to understand help resolve issues in students lives

Not really, when you weigh the risks involved, i.e. pregnancy. No one expects the young boy to be as responsible as the girl if a baby results from the assault. It's not so black an white.

A buddy of mine taught English at a high school. A member of the football team pushed him into the blackboard. He grabbed the kid by the shirt lifted him by one hand about a foot off the ground then threw him to the floor. he told the student just think what I could do if you piss me off.
