Besides the solo apricot filling, my aunt would make walnut filling (ground walnuts, sugar and egg whites) for these cookies. She would use the same walnut filling in her walnut roll (she would also make a poppy seed roll).

I love these. My father is from Poland and my mom learned how to make these from my aunts. Like you said it’s a simple dough but you can customize it with whatever filling you wish so easily. I appreciate all your videos. Merry Christmas 🎄

Hi Christy. I have been making these for over 50 yrs Being of Croatian descent we call them kifle. I have a cream cheese recipe like your & then 1 that i make with yeast instead of the cream cheese & 2 eggs. It comes out like a puff pastry. Solo filling is the best! Great job! Guys cookies look so good. Had to take my brother in law who has metastatic bone cancer to ER this am. He has pneumonia. They admitted him. He is such a good soul. It's hard to watch him get worse.

I make these every year but I can no longer find the apricot or poppyseed solo filling I have to order online and it’s a lot more expensive so this year I’m going to use apricot Preserves We also use vanilla ice cream instead of cream cheese
