For the Millenium string "sample" the strings were actually re-recorded as Williams' team didn't want to pay full wack. The record label, Chrysalis Records, discovered that a new recording would cost only one-tenth of the licensing fee that would be required to sample "You Only Live Twice", so they asked for a new string section that still acted as a recognisable pastiche of the song. So not actually a sample

I first heard Moby's Porcelain in some commercial for expensive liquor. I knew right away the strings were sampled because they're audibly reversed (listen to the abrupt stop at the end of each chord), but until today, I never knew where the sample came from. Gotta love the nerve of the labels behind some of these tracks...they have a hit song that borrows heavily from another track and then the label habe the audacity to copystrike you for including a sample of their track in your video!!!
