Hi, we were thinking of doing a five hr. fishing trip in the mornng in May. What type of fish can we expect to catch and what bait is good to use to catch those fish? Cut squid, live shrimp? And would a 6000 Penn spinning reel with 50lb braid do the job? Also, what bait are you useing in this video? Thank you!

on a five hour half day trip, typically around a 4000 series spinner works fine even a 3000 really so a 6000 is plenty or even maybe a bit large since its our shortest trip closest to shore targetting mostly grey snapper (white grunts) and porgies. All year around its about the same catch, but in cooler months we do see some hogfish more often, spring and fall we get some kings and macks... I use around 30-40lb on that trip with 1-2oz egg sinkers and 3-4ot hooks. for bait on the 5 hour, most use the squid we provide but you can grab shrimp and bring them for a chance at hogfish or maybe a mangrove or lane for your question on bait for the 12 hour night snapper trip video, most of the time we are using cut threadfins with a double snell rig

@@HubbardsMarina yes sir ..but that's why it's called fishing and not catching the captain did his best I'm sure
