As an Ethiopian I love and respect Nigerians. We are being stopped from growing by dictatorship and we have a lot of work to do. But seeing Nigeria grow gives us hope.

Nigerians are in my opinion the most confident, and one of the most loud, outspoken, smart, opportunistic and funny group of Africans, that is also why Nollywood is so big around Africa. Nigerians have really unique personalities and a very distinct accent. I'm a Rwandan living in SA and I know South Africans and Rwandans love watching Nigerian movies even though they can be very predictable(but so are Indian and American movies),we like them because they contain good messages and often end with "To GOD be the glory" lol. Also, Nigerians produce some of the best music in Africa. Actually I would say they are the best. Artists like Davido, Wiz kid, Mr Eazi and Tiwa Savage etc. are taking the music industry by storm.

Really?The white man conquered nigeria without firing a single shot coz nigerians were too lazy and too coward to fight.Zulus were the first africans to take on a british army in a pitched battle and comprehensively defeat it.Angolans waged a 25 years liberation war and came on top.Kenyans took on britishs with the mau mau rebellion..etc....I dont know a single nigerian massive rebellion against britishs.Keep fooling yourselves.

The same white men that are still ruling your country?? Well keep hating and killing your brothers and sisters, that's what you lots know how to do best. Maybe look up how different Nigerian tribes fought against the British colony before speaking from a place of blind hatred.

@@mekoyomoshe7339 Tl;dr - If Nigerians, in fact all of Africa for that matter (Very ambitious yes) truly put their differences aside and cooperated and joined forces with all their resources, there probably will be no stopping them economic wise. it basically comes down to a case of sheep leading Lions, instead of a Lion leading ships...oh wait, how about a Lion leading other Lions just as the south Africans Quote on quote did. I wont engage in aggressive sticks and stones throwing, you are somewhat right in your assessment, however consider this few points: Statistically and just as mentioned in the video, Nigeria still has one of the most if not the most diverse cultures and languages (Emphasis of languages as this affects communications) in Africa and the world at large which limit the efforts of communication and cooperation among the people. Thus leaving Nigeria to still be a country and not a nation yet to this day. Abut the laziness, there may be some truth to it, however there is no way to measure that from tribe to tribe again. More so I would say its complacency (lack of motivation) and not Laziness per say as those are two different things. This lack of motivation is probably due to how Nigeria has actually been treated in the past by the west, east, Europeans etc because of their vast resources and oil. Think of this, there was even good relations with the Europeans all the way back to the slave trade through economic incentives to the Nigerians and west Africa as a whole which probably played an early factor into this complacency phenom. Also, every action by every nation is strategic. Would rather want allies or enemies if you can help it. That's the case of Nigeria. look there is a lot of deep rooted issues really limited the Nigerians as there were called by the European, and we can go on and on, but progress comes from finding solutions instead of complaining Finally really consider this, if all Nigerians (200 million of them) or all of Africa for that matter (Very ambitious yes) truly put their differences aside and cooperated and joined forces with all their resources, there probably will be no stopping them economic wise. it basically comes down to a case of sheep leading Lions, instead of a Lion leading ships...oh wait, how about a Lion leading other Lions just as the south Africans Quote on quote did.

honestly speaking, showing a tall building does not show development. Nigeria is still third world, with no electricity and airport toilets that don't function...what development is there? There is still a lot of work to do....getting 24/7 electricity without personal generators, should be first priority.

@DominicaTraditionalWear
@DominicaTraditionalWear 5 жыл бұрын
@@Cynthia.O. please do not be so sensitive . This gentleman has given a very interesting historical , cultural and positive view of Nigeria. There lies his focus. Africa is called the mysterious continent and it is those things that attract and draw persons to it. I have travelled quiet a bit and one developed city is the same as the other. I do not want to see another one. On the contrary I would love to return to some other African countries to enrich my knowledge of the traditional cultural dances. This is where my interest lies. Also to see the wildlife. Wode Maya is doing a very good job in displaying the modern side of African countries. You could probably do the same to promote the image of that side of Nigeria you feel worthy of mention. You have to admit that some Nigerians have given a very negative view of Nigeria with all kinds of scams, abuse of spiritual power, corruption, killings lack of proper health and educational facilities. These are facts. This gentleman has tried to give another view of Nigeria in an exciting way. I love it! He is making it apealling to the outside world by showing its diversity . I visited Nigeria years ago and I really would not like to return to Lagos or Abuja. My focus is now on Calabar, where it appears to be historical, cool and green with wild life. Do not try to compete with the West or influence or criticise the focus of others. Rather do something about promoting the areas which you feel need promoting. In this way persons on the outside will get a wholistic view of Nigeria.

I hv fallen in love with this country nigeria . went there solo can you imagine...am indonesian woman 😋. It s not usual that indonesians go to naija for holiday and female! Alone! Never been there bfore and was my firsttime to mert all frens there nigerian families. Really firsttimer. Gosh the visa interview went so familiar the interviewer officer was so concerned like going daddily making sure how ready and "well prepared" i was . Anyway....am coming again this year to meet some familyfriend. And i am gonna get my paintings bring em home. I brought home 2 last november. I love rice n turkeystew, beans n fish, tender suya with masa. I wish to complete and elaborate my itinerary that i missed lastyear.

I know this is quite old, but just in case someone is curious, the religion that the video shows is Ifa. Variants of it exist in Cuba (Santeria) and Brazil (Candomble). It’s a traditional religion of the Yoruba people, one of the many ethnic groups that he mentioned in the video. So the original commentator is correct in saying that there is no one traditional religion, as each of these ethnic groups have their own religion.

Imagine if each household in Nigeria owned an internet service and a cell phone. I find Nigerian's who live in Texas, value education and respect the idea of marriage. Beautiful culture and people.

Hell no! Never compare Nigeria to India, pls, India is a very poor country... Nigeria could have been the richest country in the world, if is not for the kleptocrats and kakistocracies leaders that are acting sabotage way...
