'12 Jeep Compass-Cut and Program New Key

Just showing a little overview on a job that I got called to another shop to perform. This time it's a '12 Jeep Compass that needed a second key. I show the process of using the xhorse dolphin to cut the key and the autel IM608 to quickly program the key.

Hey brother no LS ID needed...... what year Dodge did they start using a special locksmith ID

With the right tools, you really don’t need an LSID for any dodge that i can think of. 2018 model years abs newer are a little more tough though.

how to know waht to choose when the autel ask for type 1 or Type2 ?

If you are just cutting a few keys here and there then the dolphin will probably be ok for you but If you get into a lot of key work then you'll really need a better full size cutter. I'd have to recommend also getting a basic key machine as well like the hpc blitz.

Thanks! I don’t do a ton of keys. Usually just after module programming on some makes. But it’s a fun learning curve. Why do you recommend the manual duplicator though? Just for speed?

@@VoltageDropDiagnostics not a duplicator. Its a code cut machine still but you turn the space/depth youraelf. Sometimes its better to be in control. The pc controlled ones dont always do as good of a job and sometimes do to wear and what not you have an easier time to make adjustments on the fly.
