The chromatic notes around the root, mior 6th and major third were an eye-opener for me. And add your triad intervals (4 frets) between them and you get an andlessly cool vibe throughout your fretboard. But I had to play it 0.5 the speed at times to figure it all out.

Hey Daniel. I love this kind of playing, but I find it hard to implement it in the usual progressions that do not have a sharp 5 in the chord. Over which progressions does that kind of sound work ?
@adamantoszewski34982 ай бұрын
Maybe try it over the 5 of a minor 251. Ie over an altered dominant. Because it’s a triad there’s a degree of freedom in terms of how you look at it: ie you can see it as the triad of the third mode of melodic minor (Lydian #5)- in which case you can in fact use it as a melodic minor voicing (so long as you start it from the minor third- if you’re playing over A-7 you’d play this augmented triad from C) also the intervals between r, ma3 and sharp 5 are major thirds - you have a symmetrical triad, (if it helps think of it the same way as diminished is symmetrical and can move up in minor thirds) which means shifting the shape up a major third means you’re playing an inversion of the same notes. However you could also see it as an augmented major triad and use it over an altered dominant- ie a dominant with a #5, hence mentioning try it over the 5 of a minor 251. But the sound is very distinct, so it will take time to place it well. Hope it helps.

Thanks for uploading this, it really is superb. Can you tell me what context you are playing from please: E or Ab? it’s working over both, I can move through either EmMaj7 or AbmMaj7 arpeggios and this G7+ triad fits both perfectly. The Ebdim arpeggio is a beautiful way to exit from the #5. Or are you just demonstrating what can be done with augmented arpeggio in isolation? Thanks for sharing your knowledge- there is so much to explore. “There’s a universe in 12 notes”.

@ericburgess47842 жыл бұрын
If the playing in this was too fast for you then maybe this concept is a little out of reach for you at the moment. The way he’s explaining things so clearly it’s pretty easy to hear what he’s playing just by listening to the words that he says

@@chrissng5831 Hi mate, I’ve been playing 45 years at least, mostly rock / jazz blues. Pro for 20 or so years. Daniel has I think the best method out there for getting great results and most importantly, helping you RETAIN the things you’ve learned instead of just a bunch of licks you’ll soon forget. He cuts to the chase and you’ll get results that will stay. I think it’s the best method on the net right now. 💯
