One way for beginners to start might be to do the exercise with just the root; once that's down add the fifth. Once that's down add the 3rd. Thanks for the lesson!

Your animations are great, and together with the commentary, they make it super easy to remember the material and understand the theory (after all, most of us are visual learners!). I'm a huge fan of yours. Thank you so much for your valuable videos and for sharing priceless knowledge with us in such a simple way! 👍👍👍

Pow! As a teacher with a learning addiction, I just want to commend you on your lessons. They demonstrate a very effective approach to learning, and one imagines that the strategy used in creating them (content presentation, format, visuals, repetition) would translate across multiple subject matters. Well done.

Best guitar channel on KZbin. Your triad lesson on Hey Joe was amazing - the triad runs you do in that video, I still sometimes click on it just to listen to that alone. Going to be subscribing to Patreon within the next few weeks.

Please can we also improvise G triad on D?
@PowMusic2 ай бұрын
Absolutely! The intervals in that context would be 1-3-5 for the D triad, and 4-6-1 from the G, so 1-3-4-5-6 - similar to major pentatonic sound!

How many keys are there?
@PowMusic2 ай бұрын
There’re 12 major chords and 12 minor chords, but some of them can have two different names - for instance D# minor (D# F# A#) can also be called Eb minor (Eb Gb Bb) .. These are the same pitches, but spelled differently.

What is a Triad?
@PowMusic2 ай бұрын
the most basic chord - contains a root note, a third (major or minor) and a fifth (perfect, diminished or augmented).

What’s an inversion?
@PowMusic2 ай бұрын
@@Maisy1000in these closed triad voicings , meaning, when they go in order of 1 - 3 - 5 without skipping into another octave, the order of notes from lowest to highest in pitch can either be 1-3-5 (circled in blue), 3-5-1, (circled in orange) and 5-1-3 (circled in green) - when the root is the lowest its root position and when the 3rd is the lowest it’s called first inversion, and when the 5th is the lowest it’s called second inversion - the word inversion just means to change the order of notes or “invert” the arrangement of the notes
