@@starwalker6771 so soilder boy wasnt just one guy it was a name passed down, the original soldier boy was closer to the shows version with the green suit but him and the next soilder boy after him died on missions and the one u see in the shorts is the 3rd soilder boy. I guess hes in shorts just to make him less threatning, hes just a joke character in the comic that only shows up to get taken advantage of then killed. Hes just a scared baby.

I think A-Train in the TV Show is a vast improvement over the comic version in every way. He's also one of the few times I think a race swap for a character actually worked as an improvement over the original, in my opinion. This show does surprisingly well in that department. But here is the reason I think this was an improvement; Black athletes and celebrities who come from poor backgrounds often get accused of being sell outs, A-Train's character embodies this completely. He only refers to his background or race when it can benefit him, but outside of that he doesn't really give a shit about his roots or his community. (In the beginning at least) Also the young Athlete who's gifted with too much money and power too soon, is another common thing for black athletes. Everything about this works so well and organically together to make his character believable. And of course his redemption arc is amazing

Frankly I wonder what would happen if A Train struck HomeLander going as fast as he possibly could knowing he’d only likely get one shot. He has some as of yet underdetermined strength but couple that with his speed it has to be impressive. In the end it’s his best shot.

This version of A-Train from the TV series seems to influence me a lot more than his garbage counterpart from the comics. He gives me an idea for an ideal anti-hero for my original project. Still, it would be awesome in the final season to see The Deep in the place of comic A-Train having his head kicked up in the air by Hughie in the show and have it dropped down into the water, where a shark eats his head.

Uh… no, the narrative has shown time and time again that A-Train is the fastest Supe, like in the Musical Play episode when A-Train carried Hughie away from Homelander at such speeds that Homelander wasn't even able to react, and at his top speeds, Homelander is Mach 3, A-Train with a heart injury that severely slowed his running speed, was able to clock around Mach 2.

@@KellyCalKelsey He didnt know that at the time and he thought he needed compound v. Theres also a scene in the comics where Homelander tags Atrain at extreme speeds. Also in the show Homelander saves butcher from a literal explosion (as its exploding) and unless im mistaken we havent seen Atrain travel that fast in the show. Even from a logical standpoint Homelander is physically stronger which means he can technically run faster than Atrain or fly faster than him. Atrain cannot tap in to the speedforce or anything like that whichbis the only reason the Flash could run faster than Superman. Plus the whole point of Homelander is that he is the strongest, most invulnerable and most fastest supe. No one alive can who has any if his powers (flight, speed, strength etc) is more powerful than Homelander.

i have mixed feelings about this: on one hand, I want to say that they made him black because we're living in such a politically correct era. On the other hand tv show a train does have such an amazing character arc, dev, etc. i wonder if it would have been the same if he were portrayed white? I don't think so. But why not leave him white and with the comic version? We have that with the deep. But then again we wouldn't get such an amazing character. idk..

The show got super woke. Homelander is an allegory for Donald Trump and Starlight is an allegory for AOC. The comic didn't do that. They're completely different stories being told with some of the same characters.

adaptations of comics dont always have to be an exact copy of the original. if they were, almost nobody would like the show as everyone dislikes the comics. adaptations allow for creativity to show & tell new stories/perspectives. everyone likes the show over the comics so its good that it's completely different. comic accuracy doesnt always mean good storytelling. also the show has always been woke, if youre just now realising then you havent been paying that much attention from the beginning.

@@koolaidpurple the problem the writing got worse, now everything gets back to status quo, nothing moves forward, that makes the woke part too much more evident and more distracting, there was a structure following along S01 and then some S02, but fell apart on S03... and I think they don't know what to do with the characters as a whole now.., they will just keep stretching the story, without major changes. They already ran out of Comic material, that tale was not that long, only thing left is the shock value, but gets old after a while. Feels more like "pervert of the week' structure now..
