Your video is so good , if I only had to choose 1 thing to improve about it, you could put apps names and transitions so that the viewer knows u started a new app description

Thank you for the kind words! Yeah, I noticed that too, different chapters and tips blend into each other and are not clearly separated, I will work on it. Thank you for the feedback🙌!

Awesome tools. Can you imagine a parallel universe where a new version of Windows actually offers innovations like these? Instead, we’ve become accustomed to getting what we already had, repackaged as so-called "improvements"
@Rayen74Ай бұрын
Bro…I frequently dream of that universe. The perfect windows. Consistent, fast, beautiful and really useful. The top 1 thing i would want is a perfect file explorer and file management system. What does the “perfect windows” look like for you?

Thank You so much man...! I never thought one video could give me so much useful stuff. I was looking for a replacement for VLC for years just for those ugly white toolbar, so i had to always open in minimal view. The other app recomendatons are also useful. The Files app is not as responsive but as the default explorer, i have 8700k and rtx 2070, may be an update will fix that. But thank you.

You’re welcome! Yes, Files can be slower than File Explorer, especially at startup. Unfortunately, it’s more of a Microsoft issue, as the devs are limited by the performance of the framework Files is built on. I suggest using it for specific tasks where its unique features, like the columns view, are really useful. But I wouldn’t recommend using it as your main file manager for now.
@Rayen7415 сағат бұрын
There is a really fast file manager called disk voyager that is currently being built right now. From what I’ve seen it’s really really fast. Way faster than file explorer. But it’s still in alpha and when it comes out it will be paid. You can check it out here diskvoyager.com/#alpha

@@Rayen74 Yes, I’ve checked all of their sources. It seems very promising, but the early release was planned for 2023, and there doesn’t seem to be a release date for now. Since they are writing it in C, that might be why it’s taking so much time.

But now, Files App in Microsoft Store already Paid apps, not Free anymore?
@Rayen74Ай бұрын
The microsoft store version is paid, you can get it for free on github, it’s the same app. github.com/files-community/files?tab=readme-ov-file#installing-and-running-files Open the link and click on “classic installer”

Issue with these new apps is bugs. Files had so many bugs which took them many months to solve, their latest update which came in August seems to have solved many of the issues I had.
@Rayen7429 күн бұрын
Yes, I’ve noticed performance issues with files too, although right now it’s only noticeable when starting the app for the first time. I’ve heard from the developers it is a problem from Microsoft’s side.
@atorbtech28 күн бұрын
@@Rayen74 When I used to open multiple tabs, the app would get confused, showing the content of a different tab when I clicked on one. I think that issue has been resolved now. There were also problems when copying over 1,000 files. I uninstalled the app last month because of these bugs, but I reinstalled it last week because I missed the aesthetics. It seems like the recent update has improved things.

Can you suggest a pdf reader alternative with modern UI and light weight?

Thank you for Sharing! 💯✴ Nothing is free in this life. If it’s not costing money, it’s costing something else. If you got it for free! someone paid for it. Nothing is free. Everything has to be paid for. Usually your private credential to third-party seller.

Some apps on the list are open source, so you can check if they collect data. I believe these developers make the apps for fun, not for profit. Usually, it's just one person working on them, so there are no team salaries to cover.
