Would also definitely include Edinburgh and Mont Saint-Michel!
@paulkenneally7892 жыл бұрын
Edinburgh is barely medieval… more Georgian.
@h-Qalziel2 жыл бұрын
@@paulkenneally789 Edinburgh is half and half; it has an old town dating from the 11th century to the 17th century (medieval), and a new town dating from the 18th to 20th century (Georgian). Yes, compared to rest of the city, the medieval part is small, but that is just how big the city was during medieval times, and it is a very good medieval part!

As a luxembourger i was happy to see vianden in this list. (Even though many people don’t know that until 1264 the county of vianden was a big rival to the county of luxembourg, the archnemesis so to say. Only after 1264 vianden became a part of luxembourg)

Thanks for the suggestions, finally I will get to see Sighisoara by the end of the year! I love the diversity of your videos and they would be even better if the music was a little milder. The transitions are sometimes a little harsh between the songs.

I would add Glurns/Glorenza to the list. It is located in South Tyrol, the German speaking part of Italy, close to Switzerland and Austria. It is extremely tiny and has a beautiful medieval city centre and perfectly preserved city walls. Also, Churburg castle is very close by.

I am suprised that you haven’t a single city from Italy. They have probably up to 100 cities that can compete with those you have in the list. For example Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, Montepulciano, Orvieto, Assisi, Perugia, Pitigliano, Urbino, Lucca, Ferrara …

I was surprised by the vast size of Rhodes old town, it's nice to combine seaside holiday and medieval interest
@thomasl29742 жыл бұрын
Rhodes and the Grand Master’s palace defenetly worth a visit if you are looking for this mediveal knight thingy. The old town is also a living city not just a museum. Not the first place that would cross anyone`s mind talking about mediveal Europe as it is situated in Greece. I also like Tallin and Stockholm old town as they are not overwhelmingly crowded and still living cities.

You know what I would love to see, is a revival of people who have a great amount of abundance to take the blueprints of some of these magnificent castles and build them once again however, not with traditional building supplies, but with healthy nontoxic supplies It dawned on me to think that even back, then our ancient ancestors would never have allowed their fellow man or woman or child for that matter to run the streets without shelter or food? I wonder why humanity hasn’t preserved that level of civilize being because our current civilization is anything but civilized we’re all out for ourselves, and the downtrodden are invisible to us if not an eyesore. Majesty is more than what we erect it is who we are at our court, when no one else is watching
