Loved it!!!!!! I am obsessed with medieval times and history! I have been to Europe several times and I am studying history a little bit on line, and would like to go back when this pandemic novel ends. I cannot wait to go back to my medieval towns. There are so many you did not mention in my opinion, like in Loire Valle, France, Chinon, and others, anyway, I will follow you. Keep looking up!

Another great video! Also props for mentioning the fact that Rothenburg is so well preserved because of lack of resources and development. Many of the beautiful old towns of Europe are preserved for this reason. Something oddly beautiful about the tragedy of the past preserving these towns and allowing them to thrive now via tourism. Also if you like Rothenburg and Bruges, I'd highly recommend Colmar, France. Combines the half-timbered houses with canals

I'd also recommend Toledo and Segovia in Spain, they retain a strong medieval feel, they were both the capital city of Castile at some point during the Middle Ages, and best of all they're like a 30min train ride away from Madrid. Also there's apparently another one called Olite right around Pamplona if you're there for the bull runs.

It's down from here...I live in Hungary, near the Romanian border. Been down to Dubrovnik...Those walls around the city, in parts are humungeous! Try walking them in summer...not! Eger, in Northern Hungary is a quaint little medieval city. Not real big, but has a massive old walled fortress atop it. too, plus a Beatles Museum of all things! Also, down in Belgrade,, in Serbia, the entire corner where the Danube meets the Sarva river is the biggest walled old relic I have ever seen. It is made up of millions upon millions of bricks, all hand made, over 10 centuries. It is a massive relic of over 1,000 years of history. It is called the Belgrade Fortress, and Kalemegdan.

Sibenik - on this side of the Adriatic no city has a larger old core, the city of 4 fortresses, the famous cathedral of St. Jacob (UNESCO). From the sea side to enter the city, you have to go through the canal of St. Anthony about 2 km long which is guarded by the fortress of St. Nicholas, also under the protection of UNESCO. Entrance to the NP. Krka 14 km away. Croatia is very beautiful and CLEAN. Šibenik is an old Croatian royal town from at least 9 centuries (It was built by Croats) with 2 national parks (Krka and Kornati) and about a hundred islands. ❤️🌞. DALMATIA is full of old churches (some more than 1500 years old) and fortresses from Split, then Dubrovnik, Trogir, Šibenik, Zadar and hundreds of smaller places (NIN, Primošten, etc.). in the north of the country closer to you Varaždin, Osijek, Zagreb, Vinkovci. Nice! Add Monemvasia in the Peloponese (Greece) , also the medieval town of the knights in Rhodes (Greece). Europe is actually full of medieval cities that most countries have made an effort to preserve . Do exercise your reading so that the text sounds better...you have a pleasant voice , and finally the pronunciation (ex: Bruges is pronounced “bruj”). Nice little trip! Thanks!
