Other than the few I now own, I would certainly still want to get my hands on these, I like and enjoy watches no matter the brand, it's history, or value, it's all down to preference and if the watch is any good or not. If you prefer just buying expensive luxury brands, that's your prerogative, certainly nothing wrong with that! If you only like the cheap affordable watches, then equally there is nothing wrong with that either... Today for example I'm wearing a SevenFriday Q2-02 and I love it, given it is an over priced proposition, but it's unique looking and I get enjoyment out of wearing it, plus it starts far more conversations than my vintage Zenith El Primero..., I don't like the watch any less or any more than the Zenith either, but I can walk out in public not panicking that I could be bashed over the head or held at knife point for it. At the end of the day watches as previously stated are simply fashion accessories, there isn't really any need for them other than the enjoyment you get out of them, if you simply believe that you must only buy high horology, then unless you are smitten with only buying luxury brands with history, though the majority of luxury brands are no longer made like they were, and by the founder, then you're likely only buying them as a status symbol, which again is totally your prerogative and there is nothing wrong with that.

It's definitely a beautiful watch and movement! Originally the movement was made by Unitas for half-hunter pocket watches back in the 1950s, it was later bought by ETA (part of the Swatch Group) and has been used by the likes of Panerai and Tag Heuer in recent years. It's not a cheep movement either, the 6497 will cost anywhere from trade at $280 to general public prices $480 for a genuine.

Hi Kim, thank you for your kind comment! I will certainly consider it! I haven't seen all that many new brands either worth the mention, or most people don't already know about. I was considering a high end version of the video as there are some insanely cool but stupidly expensive, micro brands, however only the top 1.5% of the world's richest would be able to afford most of them, so possibly not as helpful if you're looking for style at an affordable price...

@@Watch-Crazy Sure, I'm looking at the Straton Syncro 40mm Quartz in Blue, with Block Bezel :-).... thanks!
@Watch-Crazy
@Watch-Crazy 5 жыл бұрын
Okay, so I've done a little bit of digging and this one is certainly a bit more of a challenge, but I won't be defeated (just yet). The Straton Syncro is a homage to the Tudor Monte Carlo and surprisingly its hardly been copied. Hamilton brought out a version with a more simple dial known as the pan europ chrono but these are more than double the price of the Straton. Then we have the vratislavia conceptum heritage chrono, they look almost identical, however, they were sold in limited editions of 150, and sold for around $200 to $300. If you don't mind a good used example then you will need to keep an eye out on the likes of ebay and the usual watch forums, reddit... as they do come up from time to time. If you don't mind something slightly different but similar then I would suggest taking a look at the poljot okean, they use the incredible 3133 mechanical movement and a great used and serviced example can be picked up for around $350 to $400, here's one I found on eBay: www.ebay.com/itm/USSR-POLJOT-OKEAN-3133-Mens-CHRONOGRAPH-STURMANSKIE-SOVIET-WATCH-Vintage-Rare/391925414421?_mwBanner=1&ul_ref=rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F391925414421&rvr_id=0&rvr_ts=e013e0ab1660ac797a1441cbfff54f8b&ul_noapp=true&pageci=8d3d90aa-ce6f-442e-ad8c-914bb7b48bf2&redirect=mobile And finally for now, I did find a 10% discount code for straton watches on a website called dealspotr, however I have no idea if the code is real or not... I will let you know if and when I have some more information/watches for you to take a look at!
