Great video, Kiko! Interesting about the first 7 notes making the Lydian scale. Running the fifths like that always reminded me of a Steve Vai sound, and now I know why. Thanks!

Kiko is a very capable teacher. I like how he refers to the natural relationships between notes (harmonics, the acoustic scale). Music theory is fascinating. People should understand that music theory is descriptive, not prescriptive.

When trying to understand music theory I found myself watching a beginners piano lesson (which actually really helped explain bog-standard music theory, because it's easier to visualise on a piano keyboard). This video has made that basic information so much clearer for me when trying to apply it to the guitar! I've watched so many videos that have just confused me even more, but after this I honestly think it's (finally) bridged that gap in my understanding. Excellent stuff as always! Kiko is an absolute legend

This is the video where it "clicked" for me and I finally started to understand music theory and how things are connected. I used this video as a jumping off point to really go deeper into music theory and I have improved as a guitarist so much, it's crazy. Thank you so much Kiko, you have influenced me as a guitarist more than you could ever know

Thank you SO much Kiko! I always knew where the 5th and the 3rds "came from", the harmonics, but to get the remaining notes I thought someone came up with the equal-temperament formula- the 12th root of 2. But now I understand they all came from that 2nd harmonic, just continuing the series. How cool it is to learn something new after all these years! I also love how you just kept going with, "And then you get this, and then if you go here..., etc." I can tell you love this stuff as much as I do!

I think the guitar must be one of the few things in the universe that can be picked up, used, made to sound, made to mesmerise...without actually having a knowledge of the discipline that governs its sound....just a reflection. I think music theory is fascinating, but mainly and simply a structure, a framework....that can be explored and seen from different angles. Thanks for the video bro. Yes this stuff is interesting!

Best teacher ever! Nobody, I have seen NOBODY before, explaining or concluding out these way about the Circle of Fifths.. This way, you can really make sense of it...not only for scales or sharps and flats....but to tell out the harmonic series, and relate the chromatic scale, the penta scale....or the Lydian "Joe Satriani" scale... I wish I could download this video, it' a real true compliation of Theory.. Love your video about CAGED from the Guitar Evolution Course.. You are the best..thank you KIKO!!

I'm a Brazilian guy, I just know the very basic about music. I can only play the basic chords, some pop songs and stuff, and improvise some pentatonics and simple solos, but I love whatching these kind of videos.
