Namaste Sabrah, Amazing lesson about shopping phrasal verbs. Indian use "namaste". I learn new phrasal verbs with your lesson. I admire your efforts. Some other examples sentences: 1. Could you help me to pick out the yellow pieces? 2. Money can't buy happiness unless you splash out on a Mercedes. 3. Zip up your jacket, it's cold out there. 4. Architects know how to design building fit into the land. 5. I have to queue up for bus everyday. Thank you.

Hai, Sabrah! = Hi, Sabrah! Halo, Sabrah! = Hello, Sabrah! We fancy shopping spree. A lot. What about window shopping? How about online shopping? They're quite different, aren't they? I've made a summary from this vocabulary lesson for me, and all your subscribers and your viewers as well. I hope this helps us. Here are 12 phrasal verbs for shopping as follows: 1. To try something on/To try on something - to try something to see if it fits or looks good on you eg 'I tried on so many outfots today, but nothing looked right'. 2. To put something on/To put on something - use in the same way as wear, to place something on you. Eg 'Put on your new jacket!' 3. To fit into - to still be able to wear clothes, if you don't fit into them, they are too big for you! Eg 'I can't fit into my summer clothes!' 4. Zip up/do up - to close an item of clothing - do up is more general. And if the clothing has buttons, you can specifically say 'Button up'. 5. To sell out - there is no more of something left - the item has all gone. 6. To shop around - to look at different shops/to consider different items/options before you buy, eg 'I shopped around when I was looking for my sofa'. 7. To queue up - to wait in line for something. Eg 'We had to queue up for ages to pay'. 8. To bring down/to slash prices - to reduce the price of something eg 'They have brought down the prices hugely in the Christmas sale'. 9. To splash out - to spend money freely, spend a lot of money in one time, eg 'He splashed out on a new Mercedes'. 10. To pick out/to select/choose - 'I need to pick out a new hat for the wedding'. 11. To rip someone off/to be ripped off - to charge or be charged too much for an item. Eg 'I was ripped off by that car salesman'. 12. To set someone back - when a purchase cost someone a certain amount of money - and their bank balance will go backwards!'

Hi sabrah
@fabrice9252 Жыл бұрын
Just a little remark Sabe, but I guess you have corrected it since. Actually you're confusing transitive/intransitive with separable/inseparable --> this concerns the particule/preposition. . A transitive verb is a verb that calls for an object / requires an object to receive the action - The speaker discussed many different issues in the video - He put on his coat There are direct and indirect objets - Leila gave Sabrah her laptop / Leila gave her laptop to Sabrah (Sabrah --> 'indirect object' / her laptop --> direct object) Trick to see if a verb is transitive or not: 'the speaker discussed what? 'Leila gave what' answer: the object(s) in question. An intransitive verb is a verb that does not take an object. - The students arrived at the residency in Bournemouth. (you can't ask: the students arrived what? ...) - The patient's health deteriorated quickly (you can't ask: his health deteriorated what? ...) -Leila laughed All these verbs are intransitive, they don't require an object. Asking the question above makes no sense. What you meant at the beginning of the video was 'SEPARABLE' and not 'transitive or intransitive' because 'put on' is absolutely a transitive phrasal verb! It calls for an object: You put STH on / You put on STH. The preposition 'on' is separable. :-) It has nothing to see with transitivity or intransitivity. I noticed you made that confusion many times and that's why I want to insist; Others may stumble, but not you my sweetie! ;-) ❤ Now, I for sure know that you know all this. This does not make debate or any doubt in my mind. I think that is only a confusion in the terms you used, which can happen. I reassure you, I also make confusions or lapsus (slip of the tongue) from time to time ;-) Bisous, je t'aime très fort. And I miss your lessons and shorts so badly ... 😘🌹💞

Hello Sabrah. In Greek hello is Γεια. It is the easiest and more casual way. It's pronounced with a j sound just like in yes. As far as qeues go, in Greece we don't respect them.There are a lot of qeue jumpers and it's getting on my nerves. An example sentence : I picked out a new jacket yesterday.( That's a porky) I would be even more jovial if you consider reposting my insta story on yesterday's video.Please!!!
