This vlog was so interesting Karen. Lots of ideas there. I quite like the idea of buying to sell. You get your retail therapy in with that one. I recently watched some episodes of the programme 'Make me a Dealer' with Paul Martin. A few years ago I did go to a car boot sale to sell some items I no longer wanted and I made about £60. I went with a friend so it was quite good fun too.❤

Very interesting ty. As a pensioner and on Kiers hit list 😂 I’m looking for ways to earn some money. I’m hoping not to have to go back to work. I crochet but to sell it’s hardly much more than the yarn in earnings. I sell my own things on eBay which I find handy. I also fill in surveys. I’m using opinium at the moment and swap my earnings for supermarket voucher. Every little helps! Probably earning £25 every couple of months.

I used to do surveys on Prolific.com, probably earned about the same but it didn't take up a lot of time and they paid in cash xx

A very interesting video Karen. Thank you. I’ve been a Tupperware dealer an Avon rep, sold clothes parties in the past. My son was in between jobs recently and worked as an extra in the tv industry. He found it really interesting and liked how the costume changes happen. He worked as an extra (which hasn’t been aired yet) and was filmed in the Black Country museum the ages varied from teenagers to the elderly. You don’t get paid for about eight weeks and you have to be willing to travel if need be but something different. As a retired person it’s appealing. Anyway, thanks again Karen. 😊

Hi karen, what a lovely informative vlog. It's surprising how you can make some extra money. I taught myself how to make birthdays, anniversaries and wedding cakes, etc, just from books and the Internet it took me a while, but i got to an intermediate level but unfortunately I was not confident enough to advertise and start a business with all the allergies that people have but I did sell my cakes to people I knew and I was very proud of myself as I did make some great cakes. I hope your youtube channel continues to grow as you cover some good subjects. Thank you, karen. ❤X

This is a lot of good ideas. I sold on Ebay and Marketplace for a bit, still on Marketllace from time to time. BTW, I'm really liking the book for book club. I'm glad I got all 3 in the set.

Glad you're enjoying it Paula. I'm always wary of selling on marketplace as you seem to get a lot of scammers! x

Thank you Karen very interesting and food for thought for my own skills. I have a lock up full of craft items so that is my first line of attack 😂 I bought so much stuff with a shopping channel addiction and my interests have moved on. I studied design as a mature student but have never used those skills for income. I have good intentions for printables but think that your video has given me a kick up the butt 😂 thank you again ❤

Do you have to be a typist to do the audio transcribing? I'm a two finger typer so could take me too long lol
@essanjay86042 ай бұрын
I'm a touch typist. I used to do a lot of audio transcribing. I think it would be very hard work with two fingers but not impossible.
@GeordieGrandma2 ай бұрын
I think it helps, but there are lots of fast typists now who never actually learned how to type. Most companies will ask you to do a test to see how quick you can do a recording x

Learning how to touch type at school was probably the best thing I ever learned. There was always typing jobs going if I needed it xx

@@GeordieGrandma my eldest son was 5 and only just started school. They wanted him to go on a coach trip to a zoo and we didnt think he should go as worried they couldnt supervise them properly. They said he could sit in another class that day. However they then took him regardless of our wishes. He told us hed held a snake. Thats how it all began. His been a fireman and is now one of 7 managers of a security team in a top London department store. All other kids were homeschooled too and are a psychiatrist and a bio medical scientist (he did college for that). I only taught them the basics really they did the rest themselves 😊xx

I would be very interested to watch a video on home teaching Karen. I've always wondered how you'd get started and how you manage to keep the child interested and engaged. Audio transcribing would have suited me down to the ground - I say would have because having now been retired for nearly 10 years I've grown lazy!
