When we lived in military quarters we were not allowed to paint or wallpaper. What we did do to add design or color to a wall was take lengths of cloth, soak it in liquid starch and smooth on the wall. When we were transferred, we just peeled it off the wall and washed the walls down. We washed the material and used it again in our next set of quarters or for crafts.

Never heard of this - sounds cool. And it doesn't damage the painted wall? It doesn't seem like you could do this on a wall painted with flat paint.

I'm actually an apartment complex manager, so anytime they are 'upgrading' a unit, but not going tacky, I'm ok with it. The owner is pretty flexible on that. (Thank goodness) I actually recently just started this position and working on 'cleaning' the place up. (Better tenants, painting, cleaning up junk) So these ideas are actually amazing. I'm all for tenants doing any of these things. So I definitely recommend people talking to their landlord or property manager. ❤

I'm a renter & I've been at my place for 10 years. Not planning on moving any time soon, I'm blessed to have a great landlord that allows me to paint & hang stuff. I've been giving my apartment a facelift if you will lol, time to change things up after 10 years. I'm stuck with this hideous 70s peach tiles & black tile trim in 1 side of my kitchen wall that did not get redone when my kitchen was remodeled when I moved in. Looking forward on trying the peel & stick stickers! I just purchased replacement hardware for all my kitchen cabinets 🤩. You have given me some really great ideas! Love the tension rods, didn't know that was a thing 😒 Thank you!!

So, this is quite awesome! My husband and I own our home, but trying to get him to spend money on anything I want is nearly impossible. Due to his being on both an oxygen machine and a CPAP, I moved into a bedroom across the hall from him. Now that my daughter and grandson have moved into their own place, my husband and I will each have our own offices, too. I also will have the “guest” bathroom. So the products you show will be perfect, as I will be able to afford to buy them myself! Thank you so much! ❤

Goo-away (or any good adhesive remover) also works well to take the adhesive off, but not damage the paint. (I'd just do a small test in an unobtrusive corner, just to double check!) But I get what you're saying, there are always some trade-offs/downsides to these kinds of DIY solutions that they don't mention, and you don't think about until they happen to you!

Thank you so much for sharing on these great ideas I'm a renter but I'm buying the condo im renting towards the end of this year and I am on a strict budget being a senior citizen and those open cabinets are a great alternative instead of ordering more or having to tear out & add shelving, just really taking off the face of them and then just follow the backsplash all the way up to the ceiling if I want and put them in the back of the cabinets to where it kind of looks like it's a shelf attached to the backsplash what a great idea Thank you so much all your ideas are so simple and you don't make anything difficult thank you so much again for sharing🥰⚘❣

Dollar tree also has several peel and stick floor/wall tiles. The only possible drawback is that they don't always have them in store. And when you order online you have to buy a minimum of a case, which has 50 in it, but they can be shipped directly to your home. But at a dollar each, that's still a greatl deal! They're usually 12×12 or 12.5×12.74 depending on the style.

Are these peel and stick tiles water-proof?? And for how long do they work for the floors? Following since day one!! Love you. ❤️

Not for Indian kind of water usage, logically buddy.. since they are just stickers, any sticker peels off after so much water on them, I think.. you know what I mean 😊

@@notavailable5911 no offense, my response was to the above commentator 😊 chill.. if am wrong about its durability, I stand corrected.. Indians wash their legs post toiletry usage.. This might differ.. So, I thought the durability would not suit Indian kind of usage.. If am wrong, I stand corrected.. thanks once again

I bought the apartment. But this idea of painting is good if you don't have kids. I'm going to make a change in the kitchen. I love you and your ideas.

Your suggestions are great and given me tons of mini things to update our rental. I am in need of suggestion for textured walls. Peel and stick does not work. We have to use nails for everything. Please help!!!!!

Karen Faddis my walls are textured too. All bumpy I’ve tried wall decals and they fall off I’ve have to reinforce them with extra tape which doesn’t work. I don’t know if peel and stick wallpaper would work for my room.

Hi what about creating an 'art gallery' on your kitchen fridge you can get cool magnetic picture frames to put on top of their artwork ....or if you are not into that look, another cool idea is to pick up a range of old picture frames with the backs removed so you can see through them, and spray paint them nice colours. These can be stuck to windows using blu tac and the art work stuck to the window inside tge frame...hope this makes sense. We do this at my preschool for the children's artwork and it looks great.

Just go with art they help create and maybe they won’t accidentally ruin it. Or go with something cheap and easy to replace (and no glass) so if there is any accident it’s a simple cheap fix. :)
