I will never forget the time that I got accepted by a mother cat to be alone with her kittens. When I was 14 years old, my mom had me go with her to her friends house. In the house was a first-time mother cat who was taken in by my mother's friend from an abusive household. When I was interacting with the kittens, the mother cat decided to check up on her kittens, and she saw me,then she shook her head yes and walked away, leaving me alone with her kittens. I was stunned, and when I asked my mother's friend if the mother cat allowed anyone else to be alone with her kittens? My mother's friend said no, I was the only one that Mother Cat allowed to be alone with her kittens.

when i was a kid, like seven or eight years old, my family had an outdoor/indoor cat who would literally walk me and my siblings to the school bus stop every single day. she would wait for us to be ready to leave, then walk beside us the entire way, and it took like ten minutes in total to reach the bus stop. once we got there, she would sit and wait with us for the bus. when the bus arrived and we boarded it, she would head back home or run off to explore. AND, at the end of the school day, she was always there to greet us when we got off the bus because she knew roughly when it would show up. then she would walk us home. her name was sophie and she was one of the sweetest cats i've ever known

I adopted my girl when she was about 5 years old. She recoiled from everyone and had been turned in to the Cat Protection Society twice. I read her story online and decided to go and meet her. I was warned that I needed to be careful because she was very inclined to hiss and swipe. Instead of that, she licked my nose. She was very hand shy and it was clear she had been hit. But from the first night she jumped on the bed and slept with me and has a bit of an obsession with grooming my hands (hard to sleep!). We slow blink a lot and there is also a one eye blink. She is 19 and still does zoomies. She is a tortie so I have to roll with that. If any of you have problems with your kitty and a vacuum - just leave it not running in various places. Once it has been sniffed out and examined most cats understand it is not after them. We also 'nearly' have thunderstorms defeated. Soothing music and lots of calm normal behaviour might prevent running somewhere to 'hide'. Now my girl just wants to lie on the same side of the bed as me. Love your cats because they are capable of so much love in return. It may not be the same as a dog but has its own rewards. I would have a menagerie if I was able.

I adopted a 2 yr old cat couple months ago. The only thing she does is make biscuits on me in the morning. Apart from that she’s always on her own. She eats on her own accord and sleep on the floor even though we bought her a Cat Tree and Bed. She doesn’t meow at all. She doesn’t respond to me when called. I didn’t even rename her considering that it might be hard for her as this is her third home. I love her so very much. She runs away whenever I try to hug or kiss her. I feel like I have kept her imprisoned. I want her to love me. She recently has started following me around. I take it as a good sign. This is my first time with a pet let alone a cat. I really need help with growing closer to her. I don’t want her to hate me
@j9andphoenix11 ай бұрын
@@mugdha463 Don't worry. if this is her third home she is bound not to truly feel at home. I never tried to force physical affection on my girl and let her proceed at her pace. If you find her sitting and looking at you, try first of a wink with one eye. Some cats will wink at you and you can return the wink. Then you can try the slow three quarter close of both of your eyes and then see if she returns that - THAT is THE sign of 'you're family. Only do it once. And be patient. My cat never used the bed I bought her and isn't a fan of the cat trees - never liked going into the little hiding places or sitting up on one of the perches. Some cats like to spend a lot of time up high and some, like mine, tend to prefer being on floor level. If she is following you around that is definitely a good sign. She wouldn't do that if she hated you... And a little suggestion from me is just talk - even if it is to yourself or to her - I tend to talk to myself and now my cat meows at me constantly! If she even brushes her tail against your legs briefly as she walks past you, that is a great sign. Just give it time and don't force picking her up or anything - My cat still isn't a fan of that. Love and Luck to you

Depending on the location and circumstances, kittens usually run for cover when scared and not towards their mother. They then wait for her to get them or give the all clear signal. It's not safe to run towards the mom because that could expose them to predators, and they instinctively know that.

Awe, I remember the day my Allie died. He was living with my son because of unfortunate circumstances when my real estate agent screwed me and lived with an anti-pet-loving landlord. He nestled with my son and took his last breath. I raced to the house and cried in the spare bed that day. That night, Allie came to me and scratched the bed where we often snuggled. I felt him land on my chest as we always did. Then, as I lay in bed, thinking about my Allie, he did it again, and I cried my bloody eyes out. I was awake and felt his presence. The last time I saw him in my sleep, he lay on my chest, and a bright light shone above him. I said, "I know, Allie, you have to go." His paw got stuck on my shirt as the forces pushed him up, and that was the last time we had our spiritual connection. I miss him terribly, but I know he's with God.

@@foxxkincaid8402 That is beautiful and I'm glad Allie got to say goodbye to you. That's so special. So funny seeing this comment now because just this week I had an odd experience with Nina's spirit (I think!). I was in bed in the morning but awake and felt a cat plop down on my legs, that very familiar feeling of their warm, soft body weight, you know what I mean. Now, we have since got a new cat (Nomi) and I naturally thought it was her, but Nomi was actually sitting in the window sill across the room at that moment, no confusion because I could clearly see her. Something just told me it was Nina come to snuggle in the morning and saying "hi" like it was just any other day. It's true - cats are forever!

I already had many cats when 3 cats from 3 dif litters showed up at my door( one a very small baby ,one a lil bigger ,the last a lil bigger) . The middle size one was being like the "mother"and was so frightened of humans but wanted me to take the small baby and somehow she knew I would care for her❤. She would come & check on her once an hour all day ,all night. Finally ,I got her to come in along w/ the male that was with her. I took them all 3 to vet ,got them fixed /shots & when I picked them back up that day that was it, they all 3 trusted me after that! But the middle one that I named 'Sketchy'( bc she is super sketchy of all ppl except me). She even screams really loud if another cat barely even smells or touches her & does the same if a human pets her. I'm not sure what these poor babies been thru before they came here but it's been a year now &she sleeps on my face bathes me &waits for me in the bathroom 😂. She is so so sweet! She is def one of my fav cats of all my cats. If I can get a wild cat like her to come around then I have hope for any wild hurt animal! 1 more story : My grandbaby was being born so I had to get on a plane & leave for a week. She stayed at home with my daughter (which she also loves , also my daughter has 2 big cats that stay in her room so that makes her nervous). My daughter did everything she could to make sketchy comfortable while I was gone but then I got the call on day 3 "Mom, sketchy didn't come home " ( bc we allow them to go out on our property till 6 pm). Needless to say, I was so devastated! Another 4 days went by and no sketchy. We have cameras around our property just for our cats & sketchy never came home. The day I came home I hollered for her for hours. The very next morning ,THERE SHE WAS AT THE DOOR!!! WE COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! So ,we don't know if she left bc I was gone or how she survived ,but I was so happy she was home. I cried forever! I hope she never does that again! Hopefully she's calmer now & wouldn't but I still don't know why she would leave. I do know she loves me as much as I love her❤....Love your pets❤. I also have 3 wild raccoons that come every night to get nutty buddies😅. They bring their babies to meet me &all. I'm very grateful for the relationship Im able to have with animals!😊

I was in college and knew having a cat would be financially hard, but couldn't live with myself having found out about the situation and took him in (he was under 10 weeks old). The little fella kneaded on my right shoulder for hours a day and clung to me when we slept like I was his parent, and he's 6 years old now and still occasionally does the same. We have a bond that's so dang special, and I can't imagine losing him. If you do a lot for a cat, they love you an unaimgable amount. It's earned love, but 200% worth it.

I thought my bf’s cat did not like me because she prefers my bf more (obviously). But one night there was a snow storm and she went under the blanket, sought ME out and cuddled with me all night. She never left my side until I got up next morning.

My son adopted a cat from a shelter. She was so skidish for a long time. When my son and husband girlfriend left and now 3 yrs later. Her name is Inkie, he comes up and sits in my lap, purrs loud, locks and does love bits. In the morning she welcomes me getting out of bed then following to the bathroom. She is 1 of 3 cats I have. ❤

I brought my cat to the vet the other day for constipation, and she was scared, when the vet left, I had leaned on the counter to check on her and she immediately ran to me and used my chest and arm to hide, she had her head where my armpit was, and she was leaning on me. I wasn’t sure how she felt about me until then. My husband was there too

I LOVE that you were there for her. I always feel like I'm their "mom" for whatever furry friend I have at the time. I grew up first in a household that had dogs, cats and fish. And then we moved onto a nice piece of land where we had two horses, two geese, sheep, five cats, three dogs, 3 guinea pigs and a hamster. We did have a barn and my mom took care of injured race track horses in Nassau County, Long Island, NY. My mother was the happiest when she was in that barn (and away from people) haha

She was always my shadow following me to every room i went too and was always happy to see me when I got home from highschool school and work she was just my cat as if we were meant to be the bestest of friends since I had very little friends in highschool but we never knew and the vets never found this out until it was too late on September 4th 2019 i found out she was suffering from stage 4 kidney disease and had to be put down that exact day. It shattered me into a million pieces as i had to watch the life of my best friend fade away peacefully and i cried so much so it made the front desk worker tear up in sadness To this day ill never forget the greatest in the world in my book Giselle she was one of a kind

I’m glad that my cats show many of these signs! Sign 1: One of my cats almost exclusively sleeps with me at night; whether that’s at the end of my bed, snuggled in next to my pillow or next to my body, in the bed on his cat tree near my bed, or sometimes in the bed on the floor in the hallway right outside (the location with the best viewing angles into all areas of my home!). My other cat used to sleep either on my bed or on the chair right next to my bed (ready to jump up onto my chest when I was awake and ready to stroke her and not sleepily roll over!), but I think they’re having sibling tension right now and he owns the bedroom at night, so she’s sleeping in other rooms 😔 She sleeps near me a lot of the time during the day, in one of two places next to/on my desk, and they both will vie for the spot next to where I sit on the sofa when I’m off duty, and will purr up a storm while snuggling up to/resting a paw or two on my feet 😻

My Kitty "Little Mac" is only 6 months old and he brought in a FROG that he SOMEHOW caught on the Back Porch, (which is enclosed.) Anyway He put a dead Frog on top of my House Slippers that were next to my Bed. Of course, I said: "Thank You," and I made sure he didn't see me throw it in the Trash. He's still just a Baby but he's THE BEST Kitty Cat I've ever lived with and we spoil him every day, because he is LOVED. Having a Cat Means you have a little HUNTER... it's just hard wired in their DNA, whether they catch Bugs or Birds, you MUST accept their killing instinct.

This video really tells you a lot about cats. I like it. Makes me miss my little old lady. She was 19 with arthritis on her back end, and going deaf. She had a mammary tumor and it would constantly burst open to the surface, until it was just an open wound at all times. though any pain was being controlled by medicine, and keeping it dry was constantly being worked at, all she wanted to do was snuggle with me in bed. Sometimes I would wrap her up in a blanket and snuggle her in bed, but she would want to get out of it and lay up on my pillow. so unfortunately she didn't get to do that as often as she would have wanted in her last few months. For anyone approaching that time, do not be afraid to be there with them, do not be afraid to snuggle them in your arms while they go. you are certainly not breaking any rules at the drs office. do not let the seemingly cold room get to you. you are there for your furry one, so you do you and be there for them.

aw, old cats are so sweet! my old lady was 21 and she went deaf and then blind pretty quickly... I used to build her little pillow and blanket forts when there was heavy rain and a thunderstorm going on outside because she was really scared of the loud noises. but once inside the fort, she was happy and went to sleep :3

2:47 My first was a black Bombay. A feral tom Persian my mom had begun feeding ended up bringing this tiny black kitten along (to show her where the Nice Old Lady would give her food). He got killed on the next street over but she still came around. That November, it was going to be -30 wind chill so mom asked me to coax her in. One day, she had heart failure at dialysis, in hospital critical for a week... Our rescue, Kitty, *knew* something was wrong because the Nice Old Lady had not come home when she normally would. She never *acted* real affectionate but Kitty was clearly upset that mom was not home. (So, though, she loved momma.)

I used to have a cat when I was young that was a very outdoorsy cat. When my sister and I would go to the park, which was about a 5 minutes walk from home and a place that she had basically made her territory, she was alway in the bushes nearby, making sure we were okay. And if we happened to walk past the park she'd meow at us, we assumed either to remind us to be careful past her territory or to tell us not to go to places where she couldn't keep us safe.

When I'm near her but not giving attention, maybe doing something else, she tries to grab my hand and get her head under my palm!❤❤❤ The kitty gives me love bites, licks my hand, lays down on my arm and feet when im sitting, and sometimes just sits beside me, just looking at me. One of my childhood cats, Jinx, treated myself and my other cat, Simba, as her kittens. Simba would curl up with me at basically any moment I was sitting down, but Jinx would sit somewhat nearby, like on a pillow next to me. At least until she decided one of us needed to be groomed and started pinning down a limb to lick it.

I am definitely a cats mom. Every time he has been in the litterbox he will come to me,jump up and literally press his behind to my face. I believe this is behavior he learned from when he was a kitten as the mother cat would keep her kittens clean after they had bowel movements. It is clear that whatever they learned as kittens stay with them through adulthood. One of my cats had a cat mom who never kicked sand over her poo, and still today my cat does not do it either. The other cat I adopted had a mum who never kicked sand over her poo either, but instead would scratch with her paws on the wall of the toilet. Guess what, that is exactly what her son is doing too. Even when both of them are in a house with a third cat that does it right way, they never learned to do it like her.

The only one of these that my baby boy doesn’t do with me are love bites but a bonus one for me is that he suckles on a blanket when he comes for a cuddle with me sometimes (and it’s only with me!). I’m careful about which ones I let him do it to (none of the hand knitted ones so the wool doesn’t hurt him) but it’s the most adorable thing because he purrs and makes biscuits.

And unlike my previous cats, my boy always marks the hand that puts down his food bowl but only at breakfast. It’s a nice morning thank you. He’ll also stretch up while I’m getting it ready for his back and neck scratch and another forehead kiss. My girl looks at me like come on already feed me. Every day I tell them how much I love them. I rescued a kitten recently, at first she was terrified of humans and was scared of toys but she saw another cat (not mine just a visitor!) playing with one and copied her. A few weeks on the kitten is playing with toys and spending most of her day in our house, she curls up and sleeps on my chest and bless her heart when she poops in her litter tray she hides in a corner as though she is in trouble (I think she was previously owned and maybe scolded for this?), she is still underweight but getting stronger each day. So affectionate and grateful which is very sweet to see.

It's heartbreaking when they get hurt or die. I always have strays because either people dump them knowing I love cats or they're neighborhood cats that know I feed all animals. One time I had one that came & went for about 2 weeks. Then I found it under my porch in distress. I could tell it got into poison somewhere.( Most probably left intentionally, as soon people are just a-holes) I knew it was too late to get it to the vet so I just stayed with it, pet it & told it that was loved. He was gone in a couple of minutes. I felt honored that he knew to come to my house when in distress.

One of my cats was alone duri g the Loma Prieta earthquake. I was n my bus commute home, they attic access doors had swung open and relatched and she was in there. She couldn’t have possibly opened them herself, they are spring-loaded turn-latches, so the house must have swayed like crazy. She was very traumatized and it took a long time to coax her out. Then, every time we had an aftershock, some of 6 magnitude, she would jump straight into my arms, shaking. At least my employer made us all stay home for the next 5 days so I could be with, and comfort, her. I wish I could have been there to take care of her in the main quake, but I had to be out earning the kibbles!

Oh, what a harrowing experience for your cat! It's heartbreaking to imagine her trapped and scared in the attic during such an intense event. But the bond you two shared is evident in the way she sought comfort from you during the aftershocks. Thank you for sharing such a touching story of resilience and the deep bond between humans and their feline friends. 🐾❤️
