Cats are amazing. I'm convinced that if you haven't known the love of a cat, you haven't really lived. I've had the privilege of bottle raising five of my six. I lost a lot of sleep when they were tiny, but it was well worth it. It's really a blessing to feed them, kiss their tiny heads, and watch them grow.

My cat does most of the behaviors. Follows me around the house, kitchen, bedroom. bathroom. Gives me some little love bites when she needs me to do something like feed her or change the litter box. She sleeps under the covers sometimes, but gets stuck when I try to get up. I taught her to ride on my walker so she can't trip me by weaving between my legs. I think we have a good relationship.

I met him at my late mothers, who I was careing for, this last year, before she passed. There were around 12 kitties that roamed atoned in her neighborhood. I fed them, along with a neighbor. Sammy had a bad cold, so took him under my wing. We really took to each other. Knew I couldn’t leave, without taking him with me!! It is the BEST THING I ever did!! I’m a widowed senior who lives in an apt. He’s very sweet and cuddly!! Definitely, if u live alone, (or otherwise), u should have a pet to love, and love u back!! U will never regret it!!

Theese "hidden" signs is why we love our cats.... 5 yrs ago I adopted a traumatized ~1 yr old kitten who was born wild. She didn't trust humans at all and it took me weeks before she would even graze my hands or let me touch her. She even wakes up in a jumpscare because of nightmares from time to time... I promised her to win her trust and that she would be safe for the rest of her life. And I also promised her I would give her bellyrubs and she would love it!😂 Now sge is ALOT better. The nightmares are rare and she is less skittish and afraid of visitors... And every night when I sit in my couch she comes up and rolls on her back along side my leg and letting me rub her belly for a few hrs... It is SO rewarding for me. What she will never kniw is that she saved me too. I was so down and depressed when I got her and she gave me something to focus on until I was able to get back on track! I love that little kitty!❤

Both tails are always straight up with a curl on the end. When I get depressed both my cats sit next me or on top of me all day. They don’t take their me times in their cupboard or their bed. It always cheers me up. When I’m feeling better then they take their me time away from me. But only for an hour or two. Then they come back to be near or on me. We’re very close. I think they both know how much I need them. And not a day goes by that I don’t tell them how much I love them and I know they understand.

Our cat Daisy, we got her from a animal shelter when she was around 4 months old, has proven in the last 4 years that she's not only extremely affectionate, especially towards me, my wife gets her share a kitty love as well, but that she's also the most effective killing machine since the T-800 model 101 hit the market! 😁

I just found out the cat I adopted is likely 9-12 years old, not a young adult like the shelter told me. I brought him in to a different vet because he wasn’t acting right and they diagnosed him with a UTI and CKD. We’re started his sub q fluids and a new food. I balled my eyes out when they told me those things. Once we got home, I cried and continually pet and loved him. He immediately started nuzzling my hand and gave me love bites. That same night, he brought me toys into my bed and slept with me like he always did. It’s like he was trying to make me feel better. I’m so sad I don’t have as long with him, but I’m gonna do the best that I can to give him a good quality of life and give him easier access to things since he’s older. He’s always been such a little gentleman. I’m glad he’s mine and not in a shelter to live out the rest of his retirement days.

Listen, I just adopted a 15 yo cat. Everybody gave me the deer-in-the-headlights look when I told them how old he was (he’s 16 now). Somebody took him to the vet and never picked him up. Now, if that isn’t inhumane, I don’t know what is. If you hadn’t adopted your sweet boi, he would still be all alone. Being with them is a gift and a privilege. They deserve all the love we can give them. Yes it’s gonna hurt like hell when they leave us but you will know you gave him the happiest years of his life, and you will always have that knowledge to cherish. You gave him your heart, and you should be proud. ❤️

I’ve always called the “slow blink” as the “loving look”. One of my cats also knows I can’t resist when he shows his belly. So I get it every morning when going to work. I get the kneading paws 30 min before my alarm!! 😩 sometimes on the face! The following in front while walking down my stairs gonna break my neck, because I’d rather fall then accidentally step on them. My one cat has the roughest sandpaper tongue ever. The gifts I get are live birds flying around my home when I get home🤨! When I then have to catch it and let it go, he looks at me like I rejected his gift!

I always used to be a dog person... Since im an animal lover i love all animals. For cats i always thought they don't have emotions and feelings they are rude i guess. But once i adopted a kitten bcz it was so cute . And thats when my world changed. I understood that both dogs and cats are affectionate cats are a just little bit of wild animal thats all. My cat is *Stoic* in nature, doesn't mind the affection I give but doesn't deny it either. He does meow a lot mostly when looking for something/someone but also does it whenever I get on his case of scratching furniture & him fleeing from the scratched area. He hasn't really purred since he was a kitten (roughly half a year ago) and even then he was quiet about it despite me being gentle and understanding towards him when others have a hard time doing so.

when I broke my leg falling down the stairs a year ago, before I went to the hospital my cat wouldn't move a step away from me. Right after the fall, apart from my parents, he immediately ran and if he could talk, he would ask what happened? He hugged me terribly and kept sniffing my injured leg as if he knew exactly where the injury was. When I was gone, my parents told me that it looked like he was looking for me all over the house. He walked everywhere and meowed loudly when I wasn't home.

The important thing to remember is that cats do love, and they do show you their love. It’s not just them marking you with their scent, or seeking food, or many of the other incorrect explanations I hear all the time. Cats are not automatons. They make choices, and if they show you love, it’s because they love you and choose to show it. People who haven’t lived with cats all their lives (and many who HAVE lived with them) often do not adequately understand the complex beings they are. Thinking that every action can be traced back to food, territory or defense, they misinterpret everything a cat does. I feel sorry for their cats!

Purring: this sometimes doesn't mean love. It's a cat's way to reassure itself: I had a cat who got hit by a car and took it to the vet. When he went to draw blood, she purred very loudly but did not resist. I've read that the sound frequency of the purr helps the cat heal--and you, too! That cat also loved to suckle my underarm!?!? I usually go to bed after the 10 o'clock news is over (unless a good movie is coming on). My girl Nandi knows the routine very well. When I turn off the tv she runs to my bed and waits for me. Once I am in bed, she begins washing my arm until she thinks I am asleep, then she will jump down and go do whatever. It took my other kitty Katie a while to understand that when I take a shower...I am not drowning. Even now when I get out, she is right there to check me out, and seeing I am ok she will talk a little then go on her way. Little Britches (now passed on) was so overly protective...NO body touched his mama, not even the medics on an ambulance house call...he jumped on the gurney and laid right on top of me hissing them away. Neighbor told me later she stayed with him later because he cried at the door after they took me away. Needless to say when I returned home he never left me alone. Yes, my babies have all been spoiled...but we like it that way.

Every time I'm sick, I fall asleep and wake up with my cat curled up by my face and neck. Sometimes even across my neck if im on my back. It's very touching, but I have to be careful with her around small children because she might smother them on accident. It's not malicious, she just doesn't understand how it could be dangerous.

IMO.. I think cats are extremely intelligent and complex creatures. My cat is very cute. She usually always comes to me with a purr and hops on a chair next to me, only to start meowing while purring at the same time. When I stroke her head, she starts to purr even more and eventually lays on the chair completely, and then she's likely to fall asleep. What she likes even more than that is me taking her favorite cat brush and brushing her. It's euphoria for her, she loves it so much that she literally follows me whenever I hold the brush in my hands and she does desperate meows. My previous three cats were Siamese and they always talked. My two now are my only non Siamese. My girl is very quiet. She trills. Now my boy has two voices with me. To get my attention his meow sounds like a cackling witch. When he just wants to say hello his meow is high but soft. Oddly my Siamese never had harsh voices and sounded like my boy. Now when he gets into it with his sister she screams at him. Scares the crap out of me. High and shrill and then a few hisses. I tell my boy to knock it off he does and all is back to peace. They’re litter mates and it’s like seeing myself and my brother when we were kids watching them. My boy is just like my brother was. Start something and my boy does that to his sister.

I'm kinda aware of these things cats do to show affection, but my cat is broken. I adopted him from a shelter 7 years ago. The good news is we are still married. But the problem is, I discovered that he does not make bisquets. The other thing he does not do is purr. I'm not making this up. He has no motor. Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that software was not installed before I got him. Someone at the shelter forgot to do this. I'm am bummed. He does, however, put his paw in my mouth at 6 in the morning. I want to uninstall that program-if I knew how.

He loves to wake me up in the middle of the night then he turns up on his back & wants me to pet & stroke his belly he purrs & if i make a sound thats close to a purr he purrs so loud he wakes up my husband. I'm trying the slow blink with 2 stray/feral kitties that I feed. One had a terrible abscess on one foot. I trapped it and got it to the vet. After 8 days of antibiotics, he's all better. I just can't get him to be "friendly". He watches 2 of the kitties be friendly. Maybe he'll learn.

It's easy to tell. My cat imitates me. I like to snatch his legs put from under him when he walks by and usually he starts play fighting. He learned that and he does it to me. He will surprise me and try to tackle my legs and I pretend to fall down and play with him. He also learned to sleep completely under the blankets from me. Thats how I sleep.

Our first cat was a neighborhood cat taht adopted us over its master because we treated it better than she did. In that initial time my dad's mom died and this cat came over to see my dad specifically. It sat on his chest when he was most hurt and it comforted him alot. He knew what that cat was telling him. That she was, in her way, wanting to console him at his most hurt time. When we moved from the neighborhood, this girl asked me if we wanted the cat because she knew her cat was more at our house than hers. We took that cat and never looked back. It had a MUCH better life with us away from that girl.

The female in question is extremely skittish to the point she hides whenever someone she doesn't know shows up. When I first saw her it only took a day before she climbed in my lap as long as I didn't touch her. To this day this is still the quickest she had come out of hiding.

My girl licks my hand. My boy just stares at me like I’m a meal. LOL! He will however let me know hey I brought my foil ball now throw it so I can bring it back a few thousand times with an impatient meow.

Ive taken care of many animals in my life. The most unruly and difficult of them all was a tuxedo tabby I ended up settling on calling Mr Kittyface. It took years for him to actually like me, and I had him since he was a kitten. At birth he declared war on the entire world and the rest of the world was just going to have to deal with that fact. I didnt intend to adopt him, a friend of a family member just gave him to me like "Hey you can take care of him and no one was adopting him. Because he's a violent savage who scorns all life on this earth." He never did stop being violent and mean to the world, but after he fell very sick from a catfight infection he had to rely on me to help him heal and was smitten with me for the rest of his very long life after that. Earning a cat's trust and affection can be a uniquely rewarding experience. Dogs baseline to trust in humans, but cats generally do not more than tolerate humans. Ill always miss that little spiteful furball. Ive never witnessed a meaner spirit on this earth. And Ive had a goose, various abused dogs, horses, chickens, pigs, plenty of other cats.

When I was a teenager and practicing my piano lessons, our cat jumped onto the piano, walked on the piano keys, stopped in front of me, and "meow'd". Of course, I stopped playing and petted her.
