I’m shocked that this video named ‘ammonia-and-bleach’ together, as opposed to listing each one separately. Some might think you’re suggesting mixing the two. THE VAPOR FROM AMMONIA MIXED WITH BLEACH IS DEADLY WHEN INHALED. The fumes of either chemical alone can be dangerous with inadequate ventilation. This video should make that clear.
@nofortunatesonII11 ай бұрын
The two chemicals mixed together make the equivalent of WW1 mustard gas. There was a woman in CA that died many years ago from mixing the two together to clean eggs off her house that some kids had thrown at her house.
@LazyIRanch11 ай бұрын
Phosgene gas, also known as mustard gas, is actually a byproduct of bleach when combined with ammonia. A few other elements that are created as a byproduct include hydrochloric acid, chlorine gas and hydrazine. WTH are they thinking, listing those two chemicals together without warning of how deadly this is!

@@Eydr-s5j. We used a mint oil homemade spray mixed with/ water for a spider infestation in a property we bought. It worked great. I’m using chemicals to kill rats and mice. Rodents are a problem due to fruit trees where I’m at. I also bought a big bag of rat/mice deterrent pellets to put inside at the base of my garage door. I think the pellets are mint scented. The problem w/ the homemade natural stuff is you need to redo the application constantly. Blocking how they get in is the big problem. In my old house the garage door doesn’t seal well. Rats and mice nest in the attic & my walls. Real cinnamon & chili powder is way too expensive for rats & mice. Fake cinnamon is common for cheap - no scent or taste. I’m using bait boxes outside. Talon G is fantastic but unaffordable, the online seller wants u to buy 2 buckets, for about $150.00 each as a minimum purchase. My local seller closed shop. So I have 3 or 4 different baits. I just bought peanut butter flavored little blocks that I can throw in the attic and garage. I’m worried about other animal outside, so I used bricks to weigh the bait box down, & block it in so other animals can’t move the box.

There are two types of “peppermint” oil sold…both come from the plant Genus Mentha. These two are Mentha piperita and Mentha arvensis (Corn Mint). The one you want is Mentha piperta. It costs about twice what Mentha arvensis costs, but it is the one recommended for use as a rodent repellant. If a product doesn’t clearly state which oil it is, you can assume it is the less effective/cheaper oil….

I just ordered some online a few months back, that's when I noticed there was two kinds. I got the cheaper one, and honestly, it's a very slight difference. If I didn't know before, I probably wouldn't have noticed. I think it'll be fine, it's strong just like the peperita kind.

@@nancys2839 Definitely use it. just posted above, I used a solution on some cotton balls and a spray bottle for my riding mower that mice had nested in, and my car where a squirrel was about ready to build a nest or stash for his nuts. Knock on wood, no problems since. And I used the cheaper version. See my other comment, not much of a difference. Spray around your wheel wells and tires, spray the hood of the engine inside, I was hesitant to spray it directly on my engine, but I did put a few cotton balls in there and closed the hood, plus I wasn't going to be driving for a few days. Put some inside the car too in the glove box, near the vents, etc.

I use a diffuser for essentialmoils. Sweet orange oil is one I like and when I kept it on at night that’s when they avoided my house. I also blocked all the little holes I could find in the wooden floor, and sprinkled those areas with essential oil from mentha peperita. I had professionals over, that was very effective but on the long run the little creatures found ways to make new holes in the wooden floor. Even in houses with concrete flooring you have to block every tiny hole. Except mice can’t make new holes in concrete. They can in old houses. So it really is effective to use smells they don’t like. I cleaned the spots where I had found droppings with essential oil too. No more mice this winter.

I can vouch for the peppermint oil. But some on a paper towel or cotton ball. Also works for squirrels. One morning I looked out the window and saw a squirrel jump into my wheel well on my car. Then I realized, it looked it knew exactly where it was going, and never exited. I ran out there, popped the hood, and it looked at me like wth?? and took off the way it came. No nuts or damage, so must've caught it in time thankfully. I made a strong alcohol, water, peppermint solution up and sprayed my tires, wheel well, around the hood, engine kept a cotton ball soaked with it in the hood and tried to remember to remove it when I drove. Later that day, went to start up my mower, and there was a mouse nest in the intake.....and in my shed. So sprayed around those and all over my mower as well. No mice since I've been doing that. I may try the cinnamon sticks with few drops of peppermint oil on it. The cotton balls need to be refreshed every few days, maybe that'll last longer.

But if you have dogs, and feed them outside, you definitely will have rats. So many times I have seen rats eating out of the dog's bowls while the dogs either watched or ignored them. They didn't even try to chase them off. One day I saw a huge rat and a bunch of smaller ones on my neighbor's porch going into the dogfood bag and taking food back to the nest they had under the porch. I have only seen one mouse on my property and it appeared when my husband brought home a rolled up carpet he found. Try using coffee grounds that are used dry them and then also you can help yourself have less mosquitoes if you place them in different areas of the garage and the house in little cups use coffee grounds or wonderful for many uses including your plants.

Mom put cotton balls with peppermint extract on them at the eaves of the attic, because it sounded like squirrels were going into the attic. Well, within a couple of days, they could be heard again. Mom saw why, whenever she went out to check the mail! They had taken all of the cotton balls out of the attic, and took them to the neighbors, and had them stacked up in front of their mailbox!! 😳🤣🤣 They wanted them far away!!! 😁🤣

A car mechanic told me, after my car’s washer fluid line was chewed up by rats. He said it works because of the smell of dryer sheets irritates them. They never came to my car again after I put some in the engine compartment.

Ok. I have them in my garage. I have been trying everything to get rid of them. So far I have gotten 3 in those sticky traps. So if I put sheet softeners everywhere they should leave? I have put mouse traps, those baking soda with dry mashed potatoes and corn meal and mixed in those pallets that are supposed to kill them. But I still see their dropping.

i dont know where you are, but in UK enviromental health will do the work and charge the landlord or insist they deal with the problem eventually geting a court order to force them, if they dont comply. you could contact your city hall and ask where you stand. there are plug in things that emit a high pitch noise, they really hate them and they are cheep
@sonneversets353011 ай бұрын
*Call the health dept.* They’ll make sure your landlord complies with his obligation to keep his home rodent free. You may want to suggest to him first, you are being forced to do so, b/c of his lack of taking care of this health issue, he is forcing you to live with. To give him one last chance to do what the law says he’s to do. Look on line to see your tenant rights in your state. They vary, but in most states, tenants rule. Which is why it can be brutal to find a place, landlords charge up the rear. They’ve had a lot of tenant issues & that will reflect toward future tenants, to try to assure a smoother experience. I have a radio playing on a Christian channel 24/7 for a couple yrs now, in my basement. At first it seemed to work. Now, I think they’re praising the Lord for the food, shelter & warmer conditions out of the cold.😂 They raided my bird food & stash I had there a couple weeks back. Left a real mess! Going to have to poison them. Too many of these home made remedies don’t work. Headed to the hardware store tomorrow for some. Even the new D-con removed the main ingredient that was so lethal to them. Now, it’s a kinder, milder way. I love all animals, just not the ones that should be outside, invading my basement inside. I even had weasels a couple yrs back!!! Never in my life did I ever hear of that! BUT...had no mice issues. ;) Wasn’t worth the trade off. I wound up pouring bleach down the holes they tunneled through via the outside shower & in the opposite driveway at the chimney. That seemed to take care of them. No prob since. But the mice are back.... :( I would have left the weasels, but once I realized they multiply like rabbits & can be a real hazard in homes, I had no choice but to get rid of them. I also had a small, older dog that I read they could attack, if they felt threatened by it. The way out to the yard directly, is through the bsmt here. And I would hear them scurrying, when we would head down, sometimes. I even caught one peaking out at me once.😂Very cute, but....no thanks. I felt horrible about the bleaching, but it definitely took care of them. Dumped a big container down each hole. Left several minutes between, so if any were in there, they could run out the other hole. Found out my covered wood pile & bunny population were big draws for them. They obviously decided to move into more accommodating conditions. It explained the dead/gutted buns, incl babies, I was finding in my yard & outside shower.😭 Horrible sight! Looked like a ritual took place on them! No more now. Bunnies are back & happy here again. Wood pile reduced & moved to plastic bins, too. So, I highly recommend straight bleach if anyone has a weasel issue. They can contort themselves to fit in an opening the size of a quarter, so don’t ever think you’re immune! And their _razor sharpe_ teeth can easily cut through wood, if needed. The things you learn when you have to. ;)
