34 years old, true story my family was toxic. I left my city and moved 8 years ago, leaving behind my sister and both parents. I was hooked on drugs, relied on social assistance and slang. Had my ups but mostly downs, lost everything than one day decided to leave all that b.s behind me and moved 3 hours away, I now have a 3 bedroom house, a wife and a son. Been clean for 8 years now and it feels great but I lost my sister to the streets, she overdosed after my father pimped her out one night, she was paid in bad drugs that was laced with fenytenal. I had to bury her myself as my parents where to high off their asses to help. I appreciate your videos and gravitate towards a stronger male influence as i lacked that growing up, thanks for being here and mad respect. Thank you

"Never apologize for being a man." ~ Life
@osaweseowiadolor46093 жыл бұрын
1. When you feel the need to say No (set boundaries make sure they're healthy) 2. Never apologize for chasing your dreams ( for saying yes to yourself but there should be a balance, don't neglect the people you love or your health dedicate some time to those things ) 3. For cutting some people off 4. For putting yourself first (don't be an asshole either help people when it's convenient for you and you have nothing to lose) 5. For needing alone time 6. For wanting what women think and like ( don't put women on a pedestal either ) 7. Not immediately returning to a text or phone call immediately especially if it wasn't urgent 8. For spending money on yourself ( I'd say set a budget) 9. For caring about how you look 10. How you feel? You're not responsible for how you feel but how you react ( if you overwhelmed by your feelings constantly and it's pushing people away get professional help ) 11. For expressing your emotion ( don't be the guy who cries everyday either express your feeling without being consumed by it, express them like a man ) 12. For what you love doing as long as you aren't hurting anyone ( I didn't say "being you" cause you might be an asshole and you aren't aware of it ) I'd say men should read more books, on being a man, on relationships ,women and life in general, it'll help you navigate all of these better, and help you find balance in your life
@drewinsur73213 жыл бұрын
about that book thing: Stoicism for sure, helped me a lot to grow emotionaly. and you can see it how to this day the ruler for greatness are measured by that pholosophy. "You're not responsible for how you feel but how you react" its straight up from Marcus Aurelius Meditations.

Don't give a rushed or unthoughtful opinion in a work meeting just so you can appear dominant or say you spoke up first. If you need time to reflect or research, ask. But don't apologize - you're gonna create more value by thinking it through. (But always follow through.)

Brother Ty, We can inherit money, get a better job, win money or have money 💰 given to us. Money is value to us and we use this as an asset for life. We should treat our time as the same asset. The main issue is that we can’t gain time and only lose it. A person who is in our life; may be there for a season. This person serves whatever goal/function that God has for them. We have to choose who is in our life who will bring productive and positivity. Salut

You said a very powerful statement "don't let your life be defined by what they like and think", so many men do this and therefore over-accommodate to their wants (women) thus putting yourself last and not being satisfied in the process. Of course this is in moderation, you don't want to be always uncompromising. Salute!

Sometimes you just have to get out of your comfort zone when every fibre of your being wants to apologise after saying 'No'. It's the fear of hurting someone's feelings by denying them something that they want. They just need to be reminded that I have a choice too.

Never apologize for being *YOU*, because at the end of the day who you gonna have to live with if she leaves. If you can look yourself in the mirror and say "I'm happy with who I am" confidently, then that's the person who you should always be. Shit after all these years I'm still the same hard-core nerdy guy I've always been and I won't allow no one to change that.

"Know when to cut people off" -- Man, I wish I followed this advice in my younger days. Instead I spent my time trying to placate and make happy people who just really didn't care about me. A great list, and I might add one more. I don’t think guys should apologize for dealing with their mental health. As a man who struggles with depression and anxiety, I’ve definitely had my share of people who have belittled this, or acted as if it were as easy as flipping a switch to feel better. As guys, I feel that we are made to hold it in like you said, Jeff. Guys ought to be having the conversation about their mental health, and not be afraid to talk about the tough issues. Salute!

This comes from a man who has been around the block a few times. As a man approaching 60, I endorse what he is saying. You do you. Be polite, honest, & direct with other people. It's also important to do what you say you will do. You can politely say 'no,' and you can politely stand your ground. It's also important to understand that you are not responsible for other people's happiness, or entertainment. Again, you do you. And be willing to take a loss and move on.

For the point of the friends, if they really are your friends, there is no reason to cut ties. My best friend went to Spain to be with his girl. His family (and me) didn't like that. But in the end, it was his decision. No need for him to apologize. We chat almost every week and do videocalls. We get together every times he visits. We are still friends. Excellent advice from a man for those who seek to go on their journey of improving themselves. Men today feel as if they had to apologize for breathing which is exactly what the "woke" world wants us to do in order to diminish our influence and masculinity. What I generally say to the proponents of that group is: "O.K., do all the hard things in life without our assistance. Then you can chime in!" Rights and entitlement should come from having delivered first, not by the mere fact that you exist as a human being. And here, the correct word was intertwined - accountability. That is a real man's currency!!!

Very sound advice, Jeff. Especially what you've said regarding the difference between being in tune with the what/how women think and how to be tactile with them for the purpose of a relationship, versus being a "simp". Knowing what women want/like is not at all simpish...placating and acquiesing to them at the expense of your manhood is.

Hey OG I agree with #1 definitely! It’s one the hardest things to say. I thinks as men we learned to give excuses oppose to say no to avoid confrontation, or hurting someone else’s feelings.

@The StyleOG: Excellent topic! Im surrounded by brothers that say you're a "pretty boy" when you take care of yourself smh. They dont take of themselves like that. Im a competitive brother (former college football player) and and i have an edge to me that bothers some brothers. As a husband and father, i ALWAYS make sure to take care of them first; its my obligation. When all my obligations are met, then i have some fun and enjoy the fruits of my hard labor. I know this is an older video, but im combing over some videos i missed. Great topic!

Finally a man leading men without that douchebag complex. Men get so caught up in so much competition with each other instead of really trying to give out valuable advice, so this is a breath of fresh air!!

Great video... My only intention is to move forward in a positive way.. I set goals and then put in the work to accomplish them.... Staying sharp and focused makes me a better person.... No need to apologize for that... Thanks again Jeff...
