One tip for keeping fish fresh is you can move fish from your storage to your trawl net. While fish are in the trawl net they won’t age and can’t accidentally fall overboard so it’s a great way to make sure your catch reaches its quest destination in good condition. Perfect for making sure the hooded guys get their takeout.

@@xanider5098 You have to do that at a docking spot where you can access your storage, at some of the quest givers and at the black rocks with fish shapes carved in to them. You can't do it in the middle of the water. It's the best way to store fish for quests especially if you need to deliver them far away.

Here's a pretty basic tip that still took me a few tries to notice: When the marker swaps segments during the basic fishing mini-game, the direction it's going in the new segment will ALWAYS be the same as if it had completed the full circle. e.g. If it was going from left to right in the top segment, it will be going from the top downwards in the lower right segment It's a little thing, but once you notice it you can get into a nice groove and catch fish much faster.

I really want this game to do well. If it does, there could be an expansion pack with more goodies. If we're lucky, we might get a full sequel with better graphics and higher production values. This game deserves to be a franchise.

I would LOVE to see DLCs with new areas added just outside the map allowing you to expand out further to the unknown! I'll be watching for any news on expansions, and updates and will try to be the first to talk about it!

@BanShreddedCheese it reminds me a lot of Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. But the whole Lovecraftian meets Moby Dick thing is such a specific itch to scratch. I love that this exists.

Number 9: Crab pots can never be damaged "beyond repair", you can always pick them up and be repaired Number 12: This has been updated so they are no longer timed and no area is exclusively end game, it's all about your rods.

Use a bunch of the tiny engine from the top right. If you take damage or overheat haste you don't totally lose speed

I kept the engine from the beggining the whole run on top of a more powerful engine; it also worked as a backup engine.

For learning the books the quickest way possible, you can fish/dredge and fail the mini games for as long as you want. fishing/dredging is the quickest way to pass time while you are awake.

Let me just say, I fell into the trap of prioritizing the engine first simply because I thought you needed to upgrade the engine in order to move to the bigger islands. This is not true and now I’m stuck in my first world because I don’t have the right fishing pole. Nothing in the game tells you to prioritize poles. I love this game, but this was a huge upset for me

@ because I only needed research parts and I remember going out searching every day and I couldn’t find any new research parts lol. I’ve gotten better at the game since then but still the speed running/optimal version is so different from the way I was playing it

Unless you spot aberrant-fish mists for a type you really want to collect, resist the temptation to go fishing when you're heading out to complete a specific errand. Saving that chore exclusively for your return journey to a fish-buyer ensures you won't lose a catch's sale value to spoilage, or individual fish to boat damage, infections and/ or having to dump them to clear out cargo space.

Getting that net that fish up scraps and materials is a life savor. No need to waste time just fish up all the materials in an instant and jewels to sell. I think get that early would be a game changing.

IRL dock tires are great, provided the mounting hardware doesn't stand too proud. Unfortunately, around here, the dock tires are usually only mounted on the space reserved for sea planes.

I always have such problems with the eel in Gale Cliffs so I go for the relics in Stellar Basin and the swamp (forgot the name 😅) first. Then I go to Gale Cliffs, armed with Banish 😁

Yeah its the middle of the night 😂 im actually waiting for this game to download i am an offshore fisherman by trade And construction during offseason but the things they put into this game is really doing it for me. Drag fish in nets to keep them from rotting, hallucinations if youre panicking, you have to repair traps, can you only operate traps diring daylight hours? I guess you could fish at night too if you dont mind jail and fines . its all awesome whoever made this game has been out there for sure it really makes me appreciate it more.
