I worked at dodge as diesel tech when this jem was new and soon as you pulled the valve covers and saw bent push rods I said killer dowel pins strikes again fixed no less than 6 of these under warranty at dealer before the recall and fixing them before they explode

My brother who decided to start the old 450 case dozer (5.9) forgot one little thing... thaw all the ice in the pan out before starting it and ran it "all of it" so made it oh say a hundred feet with her cranked to the max. Pieces and parts of course so tore it down for the pump, injectors, ect to use in a pickup truck engine.... stuff gets different as direction of the smoke stack an what not.. you know the stuff as ya been there. Got the case power assembly stuff on it. Case was smart enough to dial back the power to where they didn't break stuff on their junk dozers... shouldn't call em junk as they did lot of work for their small little size. Plus that pickup engine had been through a fire and had bits of melted aluminum everywhere .... I admit being old ain't all its cracked up to be. long an short, out of dozer, swap pieces and parts, dump back into dozer an fire it up... three days but only a total of ten hours as my spine is crushed an smoking enough pot to make O'leary ditzy so anyhow, fired up with a few leaks fixed.... I do believe my brother might of owned that engine you just put together (I jokes) he used his limited ability to keep one running... a oil change every week from leaks but that oil filter, bless its heart, weighed about a hundred pounds. I think his old dozer is probably to only one to weigh almost a thousand pounds more from his miller wire feed fixes. OFF ON A DIFFERENT RANT. Why blessed mary did ford make a damn good start with the 7.3 IDI engine.. injectors on the outside of the valve covers and also the glow plugs.. then comes the power stroke 7.3 with everything buried inside and harder to work on... If they had only got with cummins and built a engine with the same fuel system cummins used and of course glow plugs as that is one cold blooded engine.... Thank you lord for the new china made 4.5 amp starters that spun them up and made fuel pressure not a problem... what was ford thinking.... a 1.5 amp starter. on that plus side, get a good 7.3 fueled right and a starter to turn it... great motors... its motor cycle, ford motor company, general motors... so a damn engine can be called a "motor" enough on what electric versus fuel is called.. Later Peg,, lets try to get Brent on his feet... one hella of a good guy but cooking twenty years of shop up for a kill the fun trip to texas. I'm seventy three, got one more year in me lets kinda hope. a asshole in Louisiana payed his bills out of my alaska checking account leaving me eating willard food. Not banks fault even tho they know who did it. Gonna take a bit to recover from this prick

Hey Peg you gotta drop the camshaft and see if it breaks. A steel cam won't break and pretty sure that one is, but a cast cam core in a gasoline engine with hyd flat tappets will usually snap with a single drop. 25 years ago my friends didn't believe me. When I showed them how, my buddy Chris made a club called the cambusters. Thursday night was usually the chosen time to down 3 30 packs and a tray of tacos. Also we worked on some projects, sometimes.

I’ll never forget I started a new job working for an older feller up the road from me. He always had nice stuff and I was constantly pulling trailers around with loads of hay or one of 50 skid loaders he had. He was riding over to a farm with me one day and I had a skid loader on the back of a really long trailer. Just driving as careful as I could in front of the boss man. We get there and get a load of hay and he decided to drive back. I’ve never seen that old of a man whip that big of a truck and trailer that hard on a gravel road before. 😂 we were damn near sideways at times going 70 on gravel. I wasnt near as nervous driving his stuff after that
