Filipinos just love to be praised by foreigners, in particular the white skins whom they think and treat like the gods, to adore and fawn upon . If any of them dare to criticise or say anything bad about the country, the Pignoy Pride will be hurt so deep and so bad god help the foreigners. Reminds me of dogs that need to be patted on the heads and stroked and they will lap at your feet. Else they will bark like mad and threaten to bite.......

Here in Idaho, our local theater has electronic reclining seats. Though what I notice is...a lot of old establishments don't get regular renovations. Unlike in the Philippines where establishments like restaurants and theaters get updated every couple of years to stay competitive.

@@teejaycarter2842 You have a valid point. Alas, some Filipinos still suffer from colonial mentality so they give preferential treatment to foreigners esp. any white-skinned foreigner. In my first years here in Canada, I used to smile at fellow Filipinos, but, some of them looked the other way or pretended not to see me. It was so frustrating and demeaning. Who do they think they are? Just because they have probably become Filipino Canadians or have lived here longer than I they snubbed me, a fellow Filipino, in a foreign country?

An added observation- In the USA, If you are in the hospital, hope and pray you get a filipina nurse, because she will be the best in terms of caring for patients in a kind and compassionate way. I was born and raised in the Philippines and lived there for 30 years of my life. There are moments that I want to go home for the reason that I miss my family, but I wouldn't move back there just because of the 12 beautiful things you mentioned. Here in the US, there are hundreds of beautiful things that I don't need to mention because they are very obvious that is why many people around the world want to live here. My favorite thing here that I couldn't enjoy in the Philippines is silence. No gossip and most of all, people here know where to put their trash. However, I appreciate you two for sharing your thoughts about Philippines. There are so many rooms for improvement and everybody knows that. I hope we do better for the sake of children there. I still plan to retire in the Philippines but not in Manila or other big cities. We'll see.

I am an older athletic person in good health but now I am taking medication since I started managing this business. I suffer from employees stealing money and materials. The good pay does not seem to matter as it does not stop them from stealing. I am also fed up with government employees corruption, so counter productive!!!. I hope Duterte puts as much effort into stopping government corruption starting with BIR as he does on fighting drugs - that would be sooo nice!

You’re entitled to your own opinion. The expository” Unparalleled” word still stands. The nationalities you’ve mentioned might have some semblance of being hospitable, to some degree per se, as all other nationalities but Filipino hospitality is one of a kind, hence it’s unparalleled.

The best I really like is the "sue". I'll sue you, I'll sue you. Even your friend whom you invited in your house that slip and fall in your floor will sue you in the states. One more thing are some of the newer electronics like cellphones or car stereo will show up first in the Philippines because of its close proximity to Japan and South Korea.
@manny78865 жыл бұрын
So true. The Philippines is a testbed for most newer design electronic gadgets. On my previous visits to the Philippines, I noticed that newer stereos and TVs were already available for sale then in a few months it showed in the US.
@pastilopez51645 жыл бұрын
Being an OFW, the suing issue kinda works both ways. Yes, we filipinos can be less serious in terms of "legal matters" but other nationalities can also view this as being reckless, particularly in a professional working environment. Coz personally whatever gets me thru the day without anyone getting seriously hurt is acceptable. And that mentality of mine gets me in trouble at work. But yeah i like it better back home... less stressful

I find it so strange that in the west many people are easily offended even in a most ridiculous reason. In the Philippines, the more you are close to your friends the more you make fun of each other. Sometimes you slur insults in a sarcastic and funny way but that doesn't really offend anyone. Friends are our bullies in a good way and it is the testament of our friendship, that is when we laugh at each other's mess and take insults for fun.

One of the main reasons movies are shown in the Philippines first is that English-speaking audience reviews are thus available to show in the US immediately at least 12 hours early before the US premier... it's a marketing effort to increase opening day attendance in the US.
